00:00Of the 15 South American migrants deported to DR Congo from the U.S. in April, more
00:07than half have now left, Kinshasa said on Friday.
00:11The deportees were the first to arrive in the DRC under a controversial U.S. migration
00:17scheme to deport undocumented foreign nationals to third countries.
00:22A number of other African nations have also accepted U.S. deportees, usually in exchange
00:29for financial or logistical support.
00:32The DRC's communications ministry confirmed what it called the strictly transitional nature
00:38of the arrangement.
00:40Other departures will take place shortly as part of the implementation of the scheme, the
00:46ministry said in a statement.
