00:00We have a very different way to talk about motherhood, when motherhood became a nightmare.
00:07This is an examination of a crisis and trauma, like a different aspect,
00:11but this is a hard thing to talk about, people find it uncomfortable,
00:15it is not a typical thing to kind of examine the real challenges of it,
00:21like the real, like the feelings around it.
00:23Isolation.
00:25Isolation, disappointment, you know, failure,
00:26like all these things that you can feel in motherhood, you know,
00:30Mary puts it really well, mothers are both revered and dismissed.
00:33You know, they live in these kind of two sort of extremes being a parent.
00:38Everyone who's seen this movie just, I've had so many friends who are mothers,
00:42and who aren't mothers too, I will say, because at this point,
00:45Linda is really a caretaker because she's not deriving any joy from her child,
00:49she's just looking after this kid and it's a different experience she's having.
00:54But I've had so many friends who've just said, I feel seen, I feel seen.
00:59Yes.
00:59You know, because you feel invisible a lot of the time.
01:02And that's...
01:02What I was trying to express was when a mother is in this type of situation
01:08where she cannot fix it for her child, the job is hers to fix it.
01:14That can be very overwhelming and can start to feel like trapped in a nightmare.
01:20And then I think even mothers that have not been in this type of crisis,
01:25it can start to build up and feel very overwhelming.
01:29I think that's a cool gap.
01:29I think that's one of the things that I'm moving.
01:29And this kind of thing is actually about wanting to make this kind of thing that I'm
