00:00Miss Barbaro, being Joan Bates was an opportunity or a challenge?
00:06James, after we met for the first time, I was just really excited to have sat down and talked about
00:13movies with him at all,
00:15let alone to get to, you know, be in his film.
00:18And then, of course, the Joan of it all was something that, you know, was very intimidating for me because
00:25I really love her voice.
00:27I admire her as an activist.
00:31I admire so many things about her.
00:34And it was, you know, it felt like big shoes to fill.
00:37And I also, as a fan, I honor her fans and wanted to get to a place vocally and with
00:42guitar to where, you know, there was some recognizability, you know, of her as an artist.
00:51And I didn't do either of those things.
00:53So it was very daunting.
00:54But you did all of those things.
00:55You did.
00:56I did, sure.
00:58But in, you know, recognizing the opportunity in the beginning, I think I was, like, elated and also absolutely terrified.
01:06And completely trusting of everyone else, you know, in this world, but just wanted to be able to, like, show
01:12up and be capable and represent Joan fully.
01:17Thank you.
01:18She did.
01:18She did.
