00:00With my glasses on my nose like this,
00:01I kind of feel like an old time innkeeper or something.
00:05There's like an old lady like, ye old spinach dip.
00:07Hi, I'm Wendy, and this is My Kitchen Sink.
00:10Today I'm making my favorite dip recipes.
00:12I'll be making a spinach dip, an artichoke dip, and a seven
00:15layer dip.
00:16If this is your first time here, subscribe below.
00:18I got most of my ingredients from Target,
00:21and I spent a little under $50.
00:24Cooking time.
00:26The spinach dip is 100% my favorite.
00:27It won me an award one time.
00:29It's literally the printed recipe
00:31on the back of the dried soup.
00:33I got all three of these recipes from my mom, Heidi Steiner.
00:36I feel like my mom is a super natural cooking icon lady.
00:40My mom was like one of those ladies
00:42who would put a chopstick in her bun,
00:44just like get her hands dirty in the kitchen,
00:46and be like, whatever happens, it's
00:48going to be a beautiful gift from the bounty of earth
00:50kind of mentality.
00:53My kitchen has a lot of duplicate things.
00:55Like we have two can openers.
00:57We had two Instant Pots for a little while because I live
01:00with two other dudes.
01:01My favorite part of my kitchen right now is my dishwasher.
01:04I think I love it just because I know so many people in New York
01:07don't have one.
01:07So I'm like grateful for it every time I use it.
01:10My dream kitchen would have Chris Pratt in it.
01:15No, I think it would have like one of those sexy islands with like the marble top and be
01:20very clean and minimalist, not like my current kitchen.
01:26I feel like my lack of chef technique is going to show the most with cutting the water chestnuts.
01:31Does anybody know how you're supposed to cut water chestnuts like the most efficiently?
01:37I'm going to do like a loose squish of this.
01:40That cannot be the culinary term, but to kind of get all the ice water out.
01:45So you kind of end up with like a spinach meatball.
01:51I'm going to cover this and let it chill in the fridge.
01:54OK, so I'm going to make the Red Bull now, which is honestly my favorite part.
02:00Now I'm going to make hot artichoke dip.
02:02This one also has a lot of mayo, but I don't actually remember exactly how much.
02:07I was really sure there was mayo in this recipe and there's not, so I have to put this away
02:12in shame and bring out sour cream now.
02:14Ooh, baby.
02:21I've made this one with like company over and they're sort of looking at me like that's
02:25not going to taste good and I'm like, you know what, get out of my house.
02:31Now I'm going to start making the seven layer dip.
02:37So I'm going to spatula in some beans.
02:44You kind of want your sides to be pretty, so the less mixing you have happen the better.
02:51I think the best response I've had to this dip is just people making it for their own
02:55like friends and fam.
03:00I'm going to check this because it's like really hot behind me.
03:08Did I really delete mayo?
03:10I just like something about it doesn't look right.
03:12It does have mayo in it.
03:14Should I leave and just like interrupt myself?
03:18This dip is ready.
03:21I personally feel like gambling and adding the mayo in now and then putting it back in
03:27like a Frankenstein dip.
03:28Oh, oh dear.
03:30If you think about it, in the oven they are all just going to get mixed together anyway.
03:34It is already bubbling hot, so I might only do this for like five minutes and pretend like
03:40that never happened.
03:40Let's go on to the dip that I have not messed up yet.
03:46The corn is not in the OG recipe.
03:49I think you can add corn to almost anything and it's still delicious.
03:53I wanted a full rainbow in the stripes.
03:55I'm looking at my handiwork and I don't hate it, right?
03:58That looks pretty good.
04:01I'm going to add the last two layers.
04:04One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
04:08We are making eight layer dip.
04:11Who's to say what's a layer really, you know?
04:14So I'm going to add the jalapenos.
04:16I think they look cuter on top.
04:19So help me God, this dip is done.
04:22I'm going to let it chill in there and I can clean up and then we can do the finishing
04:26touches
04:27and reveal all the dips.
04:42The dip that you're all waiting to see, the hot artichoke dip.
04:45Look at all my dips.
04:47I'm proud of my cheese babies.
04:48They're all going to be tasty.
04:54Is that as loud as it feels to me?
04:57Tastes good though.
04:59Yeah.
05:03That tastes like childhood.
05:04Like that's so nostalgic, which is good in case I wasn't clear.
05:08That tastes good.
05:09Okay.
05:10I am a little nervous to try the artichoke dip, but here we go.
05:13I'm just going to, I'm just going to go in.
05:19Yeah, this tastes right actually.
05:21Okay, this is my new favorite one.
05:23I'm reminded that I do like making these dips now that I'm seeing them finished.
05:27I think they present so pretty.
05:29In the process, I got a little flustered, but actually it proves all the more that like
05:34dips will forgive you.
05:36If you mess up making any of these, you could just add cheese.
05:39That would be like my asterisk on all of the dips.
