00:00Let's check in with Rochelle for more tonight's weather forecast.
00:03Thank you, Deesha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago.
00:07In case you didn't get anything to smile about today,
00:10let me remind you that tomorrow is a holiday.
00:13But before I tell you about tomorrow, let's take a look at tonight.
00:16If you're a lover of rain, then you're in for a treat.
00:19As conditions are expected to be, party cloudy and hazy
00:23with showers occurring and increasing after midnight.
00:26With minimum temperatures of 24 degrees in Trinidad and 25 in Tobago.
00:31Now, here's what we will get on our Corpus Christi holiday.
00:34Cloudy, hazy and greasy conditions with occasional periods of rain.
00:38There is, though, a medium chance of a few heavy showers or thunderstorms.
00:43So, perfect conditions for planting those seeds.
00:46Now, these unsettled conditions are being influenced by two tropical waves
00:50located just east of Trinidad and Tobago,
00:54which are currently being closely monitored by the Met Office.
00:58Moving on now to our two favorite days of the week.
01:01If you're heading to work on Friday or taking an extra, extra long weekend,
01:06conditions will be party cloudy, hazy and breezy with showers occurring.
01:10And Saturday will be the same.
01:12So, make sure your umbrellas are with you for the next couple of days.
01:16Now, let's take a look at our sun times.
01:18In Trinidad, sunrises at 542 and 538 in Tobago
01:22and sunset at 625 in Trinidad and 623 in Tobago.
01:26And if the holiday will find you at the beach,
01:28then seas will be moderate with waves 2 meters to 2.5 meters in open waters
01:33and below 1 meter in sheltered areas.
01:36It's now time for your tide times.
01:48Now, June 1st marked the start of the Atlantic hurricane season
01:53and although we are expecting below normal hurricane activity,
01:56it is important to keep in mind that it only takes one tropical storm
02:01or one hurricane to cause destruction and persons should prepare.
02:05Did you know that many emergency management agencies
02:08recommend keeping enough essential supplies to be self-sufficient
02:12for at least 72 hours after a disaster?
02:16Authorities recommend planning for up to two weeks if possible.
02:20A basic emergency kit often includes drinking water,
02:24non-perishable food, first aid supplies, prescription medication,
02:29flashlights and batteries, battery-powered or hand-crank radio,
02:32mobile phone chargers and power banks, cash, personal hygiene items
02:37and copies of important documents.
02:40Now, these documents should include identification cards,
02:43birth certificates, insurance policies, property records and medical information.
02:48And they should be sealed in plastic bags or containers.
02:52Well, now you know.
02:54And well, that's all for weather tonight.
02:56I'd like to wish everyone a happy, safe and blessed Corpus Christi holiday.
03:00Sachin, eight more days until World Cup.
03:04Tell me.
03:05Yes, indeed.
03:06Eight more days for the World Cup.
03:08Well, I can tell you that one top Swiss player left grounded.
