00:00Do you feel like those are stories that are negative on purpose?
00:05Have you felt that Hammond has somehow been slighted in this process?
00:10Absolutely.
00:12I've been in politics for 22 years.
00:14I know a hit piece when I read it.
00:16That was a hit piece.
00:18I knew what the intention of it is.
00:19I mean, obviously, people at the Chicago Tribune, you know,
00:23that wrote that article, that approved that article,
00:26they're afraid that Hammond is a legitimate threat.
00:28They're afraid that the Chicago Bears are going to choose to move their home games
00:32to Hammond, Indiana, and they went through and came up with, you know,
00:37a storyline that has caught fire.
00:39I mean, there's a lot of people talking about the fact that I live in a toxic city,
00:44and it's unbelievable.
00:45It's, you know, it's not fair, but it's politics,
00:48and, you know, we're trying to land an $8 billion company from Illinois,
00:52and obviously there's, you know, people in Illinois that aren't happy to see that.
00:56So I think that's where it was coming from,
00:58but I do want to reiterate the Lost Marsh golf course, the Wolf Lake area is pristine.
01:03It's been reclaimed.
01:05In fact, on the Lost Marsh when the city Hammond reclaimed that flag keep
01:09and built a golf course on top of it, we received an award from the United Nations,
01:13and, you know, that was in, like, 1993 for the environmental reclamation that we did there.
01:19It's clean as a whistle.
01:20We know that, and the Bears probably know that now as well
01:25because they probably know much more about that land than we do
01:28because they spent millions of dollars analyzing it.
01:30So...
