00:00Brought back, obviously, a lot of memories, you know, selfishly sitting in that broadcast booth for, you know, for 16
00:06years, 14 of those with the great Pat Foley.
00:10And seeing, you know, Kaner come into Chicago and perform at a high level, expectations and exceeding everything and all
00:22due respect to the greats of, you know, my childhood of knowing about Stan McKenna and Bobby Hull and Tony
00:29Esposito and Glenn Hall and moving forward into, you know, Savvy and Marion Hossa, Pierre Palat.
00:37But I don't think there's any doubt that with the individual accolades and the performance and winning, that Kaner is
00:46the greatest Blackhawk ever to wear, the greatest sweater in all of professional sports.
00:50And for him to come back home, let me say that, I'm not, please, I'm not comparing myself.
00:59I'm just talking about the situation.
01:01I know what it's like to come back home.
01:03So, I played my first three years here in Chicago and then I got traded and I was gone 11
01:10years.
01:10And quite honestly, I don't think there was many stretches where I had thought about if there would ever be
01:19an opportunity to get a chance to get back home.
01:21And I did.
01:21And I'm thankful to the late Mr. Pulford, Bob Pulford, and then General Manager Bob Murray for, you know, bringing
01:30me back home for two years.
01:31And it just, you know, obviously I'm from here, as you mentioned, Molly, but there's just, you know, it's an
01:42emotional time, I'm sure, for Kaner and his family.
01:45But this guy's got a lot left in the tank.
01:48He had a really good season on the assist side in Detroit.
01:53You know, he was laboring a little bit at times.
01:55I know he was banged up a couple of times and tried to play through it.
01:58But, you know, he's going to help this team in so many ways.
02:01The power play is going to be that much better.
02:04And, you know, a guy like Conor Bedard and the other young guys on this roster will be able to
02:09watch him, how he carries himself off the ice, how he handles the media, how he handles the public, and
02:17how he goes about his preparation for playing as long as he has.
02:21And I think that regardless of the stats, both team-wise and individually, in my opinion, and like I said,
02:30having played and coached and broadcast forever, the impact will be felt immediately.
02:35And then, honestly, more importantly, for, you know, three to five to ten years where you would expect a lot
02:42of these guys on this roster that Kyle has assembled that will still be here and be able to learn
02:47and take something from it.
02:48So I think it's a win-win, and I just was extremely happy for Canor and happy for the Blackhawks
02:56organization.
02:57It was a great move by Kyle, and to be able to get it done and then for the fan
03:01base to get a legend back is just awesome.
03:05There's no other way to say it, and I know the hockey world is pretty pumped up as well, and
03:10that's saying something.
