Friedell handed over a home run ball hit by Michael Busch.
Transcript
00:00Literally, I was sending my friends a picture.
00:02The person that sat in front of me in the bleachers was Anthony Rizzo
00:06in his blue jersey from Game 7.
00:09And my friend's like, you've got to be kidding me.
00:11And Rizzo sits down and goes, last time I was out here,
00:14somebody hit a ball to me.
00:16You've got to be kidding.
00:17He said the word?
00:18I mean, it was just, it was crazy.
00:20And so then Bush hits the ball, and I'm thinking, no way, come on.
00:24And Rizzo stands up, and you're like, oh, this is just meant to be.
00:29And the ball, as we know, goes right off his hand,
00:32and he's holding his son.
00:33And I look down, and the ball is literally on my foot.
00:39I'm like, no way.
00:41And what pissed me off from a year ago is that he was trying to catch that ball
00:46from a year ago, and I didn't feel like anybody ever gave it back to him.
00:49I mean, that was his ball.
00:51It was hit to him.
00:52He just didn't make the play because I think he had a beer in his hand
00:55the first time.
00:56But I picked it up, and immediately was like, here you go.
00:59And everybody went nuts.
01:01And for a second, he was like, hey, thanks.
01:04But then there was another, like after another couple minutes, he's like,
01:07so you're just a fan?
01:08And I was like, yeah.
01:11He couldn't believe that I was sitting there in the middle of everybody.
01:16And I mean, as far as I'm concerned, as a lifelong fan,
01:20it was just meant to be.
01:21But it was such a cool moment for that ball to just be right there.
01:26I was, because there's a part of me, you know, I've lived this my whole life,
01:30been a fan.
01:31And I was at game seven, like you mentioned.
01:33I'm like, is this really happening?
01:36And so to see the ball and to be able to hand it to him,
01:41it was one of the coolest moments I've had as a Cubs fan, for sure.
