At least 21 people were killed after a massive fire tore through a hotel in Delhi's Malviya Nagar on June 3.

00:14building on the morning of 3rd June.
00:16At least 21 people were killed and over 40 rescued after flames ripped through the flourished
00:22day bed and breakfast hotel in the congested Horsrani area of South Delhi.
00:25Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as thick smoke spread rapidly through the building.
00:30People smashed window panes, shouted for help and searched for any possible escape route.
00:42Dramatic visuals also showed another woman jumping from the building to escape the blaze.
00:47Several of those killed are believed to be foreign nationals,
00:49mainly from the Central Asian and African countries.
00:55Officials have warned that the death toll could rise as several injured victims remain
00:59in a critical condition.
01:00Sources claim that the hotel was licensed to operate only six rooms under the bed and breakfast
01:05scheme, but was allegedly running 25 rooms, including some in the basement.
01:09Police also said the building had only one entry and exit point.
01:13An FIR is being initiated against the hotel owner, while investigators are examining whether the property
01:18had adequate fire safety measures and a valid fire NOC.
01:21Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed condolences and announced an ex-crash of Rs. 2 lakh
01:26for the families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 for those injured.
01:30As authorities investigate the cause of the fire, the tragedy has once again raised concerns
01:34about fire safety compliance in crowded urban buildings.
