00:00Carmen Majinski of the Pittsburgh Pirates is coming off of the restricted list early this week.
00:05He is going to throw out of the bullpen for the Pittsburgh Pirates in Houston.
00:10Carmen Majinski was removed from the starting rotation as Jared Jones made his way back.
00:16Understandably so. Jared Jones is one of the better young pitchers in Major League Baseball.
00:20He's coming off of an elbow surgery, and he's back.
00:24So he's going to be in the starting rotation.
00:26This Pirate rotation has been very good.
00:29But it's not like you're bumping Skeens.
00:31It's not like you're bumping Ashcraft.
00:33Jones is involved.
00:35It's not like you're bumping a young Bubba Chandler.
00:37And then you've got a vet as well rounding out the rotation.
00:41So the guy to go in this rotation was Carmen Majinski.
00:45Instead of taking the push to the bullpen in stride and being a professional and saying,
00:51yeah, no, I'll do whatever I need to do to help the team win.
00:54It was I'm going to talk to my agency and figure out best steps.
00:58And then the Pirates place him on the restricted list.
01:01He comes off.
01:02He will throw out of the bullpen.
01:04What did you make of the way that he might have reacted to this news that he was being removed
01:10from the Pirate rotation?
01:12Well, from what we understand, too, this isn't like the first time.
01:14I mean, and it was kind of alluded to by Charrington.
01:19It's very important for Carmen Majinski to start.
01:22He's made that clear to us in the past because in the past when they were kind of going between
01:26relief and starter roles,
01:27I think there was a little bit of a back and forth and an unhappy Carmen Majinski.
01:32Last time it was maybe considered to move him from the rotation.
01:36But the biggest thing is, you know, I can understand maybe frustration of saying I've been more productive than Bubba
01:40Chan or, you know, maybe I deserve to stay in instead of him.
01:43You could think that say that behind closed doors.
01:45It's just so easy to be able to just say, like, yeah, I'm disappointed, but I want to do what's
01:50best for the team.
01:51And then, you know, figure out what you want to figure out behind closed doors.
01:54I think the whole situation has been handled weird.
01:57And then Majinski is supposed to speak with media.
01:59You know, I think today is we're recording this.
02:01And all of a sudden you get a piece out before he even speaks to the entire media through MLB
02:06.com, where it's like Majinski is ready to fill his role.
02:10And it feels like his agent probably talked to him and said, don't make this a bigger thing than you
02:14need to.
02:14And I feel like the Pirates also said the same thing.
