A Runcorn man has been sentenced after admitting sending hoax emails to three schools across Merseyside. Police say restraining orders have also been imposed preventing further contact with the schools involved.

00:00A man from Runcorn has been jailed after admitting sending hoax emails to three Merseyside schools.
00:0621-year-old Darren Rigby was sentenced to 28 months in custody at Liverpool Crown Court.
00:13He pleaded guilty to three offences of sending communications threatening death or serious harm.
00:19Rigby also admitted possessing cannabis and an offensive weapon described as a baton in a private place.
00:25The emails were reported by schools in West Derby, Southport and Liverpool during the month of January.
00:32Merseyside Police say Rigby was arrested after an investigation and has been made subject to three restraining orders preventing further
00:40contact with the schools involved directly.
