The Senate minority bloc is seeking the resignation of Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano for alleged dereliction of duty. They are asking the majority group led by Cayetano to join them instead. The eleven-member minority bloc was present by three p.m., which was the usual start of Senate sessions. Cayetano was expected to open the session. But thirty minutes later, Cayetano and the rest of the majority bloc members did not show up.
