00:01Astros, they're off today as they needed that off day.
00:05What, 23 games in 24 days as they collect an off day
00:10and then they'll get ready to host the Pittsburgh Pirates at home.
00:17Andy's going to be really into that.
00:19Where's Weatherman? I ain't seen Weatherman Andy lately.
00:21Andy, you getting tickets to that one?
00:23Where's Weatherman Andy?
00:24It's an Andy number right there, Pittsburgh's finest right there.
00:28You must be out there fixing that signal, boys.
00:31Out there getting that signal right.
00:33What do you think Andy does on his days off?
00:35I think he goes and visits that signal site.
00:37Piddles.
00:39I think he...
00:40I think he massages that knee surgery, that knee surgery his wife he had.
00:47Yeah, I think he really...
00:48Because I don't take Andy for a fisher.
00:50He really caters to his old lady.
00:51I don't think he fishes, I don't think he does...
00:54No.
00:54He could rock a bucket hat, though.
00:57I'll be honest with you.
00:57I think he could walk the mall.
01:00I think Tyler's probably right.
01:02I think there's a lot of piddling going on.
01:04That's my experience, gentlemen, such as Andy at his age on the weekends.
01:08They get stuff done, but there's a lot of piddling.
01:11Well, you've got to think, too, T.
01:12I mean, when you're in that engineer world, you've got to piddle it to get it right.
01:17You know what I mean?
01:18100%.
01:18I mean, there's a lot of doing, trying 10 different things to figure out the problem.
01:22And Andy, so there's a natural...
01:24He'll try all of them.
01:25Yes, I think there's a natural piddling part of that, you know?
01:32It's well played, man.
01:33Piddle was a great, great...
01:34I think he's a piddler.
01:36I'd like to know for sure what he does.
01:39I know he's getting the 6 at 9 and 10 o'clock news.
01:43I think he piddles and listens to the Pirates in his garage.
01:49Well, I got a scanner on in the background, know what's going on.
01:52He's a big scanner guy.
01:53Oh, yeah.
01:54I bet he is a scanner.
01:56I bet he knows where all the police are, everything.
02:00That's one of my pastimes.
02:02I bet it was.
02:02I could see that.
02:03Scanner?
02:03Yeah, it's one of my nerdish tendencies.
02:05If I ain't got a lot going on, if I'm laying in bed, I'll turn that police scanner on to
02:09just listen.
02:10One of the best things about my upbringing, Tyler, old Astro Granny, she'd have that old
02:14police scanner on, and when our address came across that thing, she'd come out there and
02:19she'd tell us all, time to go.
02:21She'd let us know, cops are on the way, if your ass don't want to go to jail, you better
02:24get up out of my house.
02:25Everybody'd scatter.
02:26And they'd come, too, wouldn't they?
02:28Oh, yeah.
02:28They'd show up, and they'd leave, and then people'd come right back in the back door.
02:32There you go.
02:33Get the hell out of here.
02:34Yeah, Granny, you know what's going on.
02:37Lord have mercy.
02:38Yeah.
02:38Well, good for you and Andy, and Andy and Linda are scanners.
02:43I can see that.
02:44Oh, I'm going to tell you, Granny and Andy, they could talk a dog off a meat wagon now.
02:48Andy ties those shoes up real tight.
02:50He is going to walk somewhere.
02:53He is going to walk.
02:55Where's he been, man?
02:56I ain't seen Andy.
02:57I ain't seen Andy in a minute.
02:58I miss Andy.
02:58I miss Andy with his hat.
03:01Come on, man.
03:02Andy's got a Bum Phillips story for me.
03:05I like him.
03:06I like him.
03:08And Rod.
03:08Big Andy.
03:09All right.
03:10Astros news.
03:11And I think this is good.
03:13This is pretty good injury news.
03:16I'll start with the least, and then we'll finish up.
03:19But Christian Javier, who has been gone since we said it here that one day, and we came
03:24back for commercial break against the Rockies, and all of a sudden, he had a call for somebody
03:29to come out.
03:30And this is right on the run of injuries that the Astros started taking right off the rip.
03:36He will pitch in AA Corpus Christi on Wednesday.
03:40So he is getting back and facing live batters.
03:44Is he still on y'all's radar, boys?
03:45Do y'all still care?
03:48Yeah, I agree.
03:50Yeah, because he has shown in his past not just to start, but he also has this, the piggyback
03:59thing was something that was really strong for him in years past in the postseason.
04:04So can he help this?
04:06Because, listen, it's not like, hey, man, hey, they've turned it around this fast that
04:12every part of their bullpen is safe and good and all that.
04:16So, yeah, I think any options that they can have, and he could be better than the Cody
04:22Boltons or something in the world.
04:24So, yeah, I think it's the attention.
04:26Because if Christian Javier discovers it in his pitching will, that's a big weapon.
04:31Well, but you talk about, I don't know that anybody has fallen for me like Christian Javier.
04:38I mean, there was a time when Christian, for me, was like...
04:42Yeah, but I could at least, with the fall, say there is a Tommy John surgery in there.
04:48Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, no doubt.
04:49And then whatever this was to start.
04:52Yeah, no doubt.
04:52There was just one of those, like, in hopes of, like, boy, this guy's got some serious
04:56stuff.
04:56I mean, obviously, he's not Hunter and he's not Fromber, but damn, he could be a two.
04:59He could be a two, no question.
05:01Rough start.
05:02Yeah, Lance liked to have a word.
05:03But Hunter Brown, Clint, he will pitch Thursday in El Paso with AAA Sugarland.
05:11So, he is in Sugarland and they're making him go to El Paso.
05:14Damn.
05:15They're going to just test him out in hell, ain't they?
05:17I mean, they just see how hot they get it for old Lance.
05:20Hey, hey, Tyler, if I'm Hunter, man, I got to put my...
05:24Hey, guys, I'll go to Round Rock.
05:28It's going to be stagnant 103.
05:30I'll go to Round Rock.
05:31Yeah, but, I mean, outside of that, guys, I'm not going to Albuquerque.
05:35I'm not going to El Paso.
05:37Just being diesel.
05:38I'm not going to these places.
05:40Sugarland, Round Rock.
05:41That's where I pitch.
05:43Pokemon.
05:45That man is shipping him to El Paso for two, three hours.
05:50Hotter than Hades out there.
05:51But that means he's getting close.
05:53That means he's getting real close.
05:55He's in AAA Sugarland getting a start.
05:57So we'll watch out for that one.
05:59And then the big news here, also, Jose Altuve is very close to facing him.
06:06So he had been in Florida hitting.
06:09But the big one is Josh Hader is scheduled to be activated on Tuesday.
06:14Tomorrow, Josh Hader is scheduled to be at the back half and the back end of that bullpen
06:20to take over his closer role in this series against the Pirates.
06:24So they got one of the big, big guns back in Josh Hader.
06:28Yeah.
06:29I mean, man, if, you know, with him coming back,
06:33you push some of the guys that have been obviously having to feel that ninth inning role.
06:37You pushed him back into earlier in the game, the 7, 6, 7, 8, 8 area.
06:42That is starting to shape up a little bit.
06:44If Jose Altuve can obviously come back, which we fully expect him to,
06:51but the way that Pena has come back and he's swinging it well,
06:56the lineup gets a little bit longer as well.
06:58And then we're just on hunter watch, man.
07:00Just wait for Hunter Brown to get back.
07:03Yeah, it feels close.
07:03So, yeah, those are, that's all good news, right?
07:07There is, that is all big news.
07:10You've got Josh one of the big guns.
07:11I think, I think Hader and Hunter Brown are the two that you've been looking at,
07:15even more than Altuve.
07:16We understand the importance of Altuve,
07:18but those two dudes were the ones we've been looking at
07:21that have been out for a long time.
07:23Josh obviously hasn't pitched yet this year.
07:25And Hunter Brown, I think, I think Tyler's, I think he's got two starts.
07:31And, and that's correct.
07:32Two starts, that, that is huge, right?
07:35Because those are, I mean, those have been the, the big keys.
07:38You throw Hunter Brown in there and, and, and that means he's taken,
07:42he's taken somebody out.
07:43My buff boy, Hunter Brown.
07:45Obviously better than, boy, we'll, we'll see.
07:48We'll, we'll see what that looks like.
07:49But Hunter Brown close in El Paso for some reason.
07:53And then, and then.
07:55Well, let's not, let's not overlook the,
07:57the importance of that Altuve in this lineup.
07:59I mean, this is, I mean, you, you are so heavily, like, like, I mean,
08:06it is just hard to generate runs if,
08:08if Jordan Alvarez isn't just on a, on a hot streak right now.
08:11And, and that's no, look, I know Christian Walker swung it well.
08:14I know Pena, as I, as I mentioned, swinging it well.
08:16I think Paredes is as hell, I mean, I think as dependable as anybody,
08:20but boy, you just, as you said, boy,
08:22you get to the sugar land into that of this lineup.
08:25You get there awfully quick when Altuve and Pena are out.
08:28You get there awfully quick when you're missing a couple of those top bats.
08:31So getting him back is going to be, is going to be huge.
08:34What do you think about the protection of Paredes behind Taylor Trammell this week?
08:38Yeah, I mean, I, I don't, I mean, you know how I feel about it.
08:40I mean, I think it's, I think it's plum ass silly that the, the, the left,
08:43right, it's gotta be the left, right thing.
08:46I think it's plum ass silly.
08:47That caught me off guard, fellas.
08:49I'm not going to lie to you.
08:50Nothing should catch you off guard, Ron, with this, with this guy.
08:53I mean, nothing should catch you off guard, with this guy.
08:55It's freaking good.
08:56Nothing.
08:56Hey, we're going to, we're going to put, hey, hey,
08:59we're going to put Jordan Alvarez in the two hole,
09:01as close to the, to, to lead off as we can,
09:03to make sure he gets as many at bat, maximize his at bats.
09:07And then we're going to turn around in this game,
09:09and we're going to drop Taylor Trammell in that four hole in front of Paredes.
09:13The hell kind of sense does that make?
09:15Yeah, I just, I just assume you just put Paredes in front of Jordan,
09:19and then it makes more sense.
09:22Correct.
09:22This lineup's not hard.
09:24I mean, you get right beyond the world.
09:26You're top four hitters.
09:28You need to know exactly who they are.
09:29I mean, it should never change.
09:31Ever.
09:31I'm trying to do the best I can.
09:32The order can change, but those four guys being in that top four,
09:36and when Altuve gets back, we stretch that number to five.
09:39You don't know, man.
09:40Taylor Trammell, and he's, I think he's in 314.
09:43No, he's swinging it well.
09:44He just ain't got no business being in that part of the lineup.
09:46No, no, no, no.
09:48And to your point, I'm damn sure going to pitch around big boy
09:52if Taylor Trammell's staring at a pike.
09:55I had to look at that a couple of times.
09:57Okay.
09:58That was a no-brainer for me.
09:59All right, T-Time.
10:01He must be having some unbelievable cage sessions to have gotten himself.
10:06I mean, that man's bad.
10:07He's hit clean up more than.
10:10The antithesis of Correa's batting cage.
10:14Yeah, yeah, stay out of that one.
10:16They should not allow anybody else to go into that particular batting cage.
10:21That batting cage should just stay empty.
10:23It's cursed.
10:24Yeah, it's cursed.
10:25Dan Howes slid in there.
10:27It's cursed.
10:27Don't mess with it.
