00:10Villagers say they are still waiting for basic infrastructure to deliver on its promise.

00:34It's six in the morning. Women of Kabrai, a six-hour drive from Lucknow, are out with their buckets.

01:40When Kabrai, locality of Mahoba, was suffering bad with the water crisis,
01:46the residents of this particular area started the Jugaad wala hand pump.
01:55That means the makeshift hand pump. In Hindi, we say Kicchu.
01:59That's what's being used out here.
02:03No, this hasn't been given to them in any kind of government scheme.
02:08The so-called Serkari Yojana or any help from any winning or fighting candidate from any political party.
02:16But it is being bought by them by a cost of 1,000.
02:35A water tank was built using local MLA's funds a few years ago.
02:41But it is still not functional.
03:05The authorities assure Kabrai will get regular water supply soon.
03:11Villagers, however, are sceptical.
03:14They will be convinced only when they get the promised water.
