00:04It's my pleasure to welcome today Pascal Brier, the Chief Innovation Officer at Capgemini.

00:10So firstly, I'd like to ask you, tell us why startup collaborations are essential to groups like Capgemini.
00:16Well, I think the success of large companies mainly relies on two things, innovation and the quality of their ecosystem.
00:23And that's true as well for Capgemini.
00:24When we look at startup, we see companies that are understanding early signals early in their development, that are moving
00:32fast and are able to attract money and investment.
00:37And for us at Capgemini, when we are developing our innovation, we are agnostic about the fact that it happens
00:42internally as well as externally.
00:45We need both.
00:45So that's why it's important for us.
00:47We see startups as a major input into our R&D engine.
00:53And then for startups, on the flip side, what do they gain from such partnerships?
00:57Startups are very good at building technologies and introducing new technologies.
01:02Now, where they're struggling is mainly two things, scaling that technology and market access, and mainly market access into big
01:11clients.
01:11And that's where I see a complementarity between what they do and what we do.
01:15By working together, they bring their early signal understanding, they bring their technologies, and we can take that technology, put
01:22it on top of our own technology, if I may say so, and then allow them to get that market
01:28access as well as scaling.
01:30And it's not only scaling the technology itself.
01:32It's also adding reliability, security, governance on top of their overall construct.
01:39And finally, I'd like to ask you a bit about the role that VivaTech plays in making this model work.
01:44Well, I see VivaTech as a connected tissue.
01:46It's a place where you bring together clients, tech companies, hyperscalers, software vendors, and startups, obviously.
01:54And that's where we share a passion for technology.
01:56So for us, it's a very important moment.
01:59This year, we will host 12 startups on our booths.
02:03And as well, we will make sure that all our clients visiting us have an opportunity to meet with more
02:08than those 12 startups, but also getting to know some other startups from the ecosystem.
02:13So for the last 10 years, VivaTech has played that role for us.
02:17And when I look into the future, I see that it's going to be the same for the next 10
02:21years.
