00:04Every week the James Webb Space Telescope is providing humankind with looks into the cosmos like never before.
00:10And this one is no different.
00:12This is the most recent photo that NASA's new flagship telescope has taken of the Orion Nebula.
00:17The nebula gets its namesake from the constellation Orion, where it resides in the sky.
00:21The nebula itself is situated some 1,350 light-years away from Earth.
00:26But in this James Webb photo, it almost feels as though you can reach out and touch it.
00:30And while it's a nice surprise for us, for the researchers who have been waiting for James Webb to open
00:34its lens and start looking at the nebula, it's been a long time coming.
00:38Astrophysicist and faculty member at the Institute for Earth and Space Exploration Els Peters says they've been waiting more than
00:44five years for this picture.
00:45Explaining about the newly released image, quote,
00:47These new observations allow us to better understand how massive stars transform the gas and dust cloud in which they're
00:53born.
00:53Adding that the ultraviolet radiation from those stars enters the gas clouds around them, altering not only its chemical composition,
00:59but also its physical shape.
01:01The Orion Nebula you're seeing here is a staggering 12 light-years end-to-end, and 2,000 times the
01:07mass of our Sun.
01:08A few within eight years I can Ricoh닉 and designate life處 scientists come out on the spring.
01:08Just stay tuned.
01:09Ms. Flynn I saw.
01:11Les undone.
01:12I think Mark Coo todos has got italiano.
01:12And he said, directoriesz, you know, he's got a lucky heart of the natució that was just starting to keep
