Jonathan Pollard — the former US Navy intelligence analyst convicted of spying for Israel — is back in the spotlight with explosive warnings about Israel’s future wars. Now running for Israel’s Knesset on a hardline platform, Pollard says Israel must prepare for possible conflict with Turkey and Egypt and even suggested nuclear options against Iran. His comments come as tensions soar between Israel and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, while concerns grow over Egypt’s military buildup in Sinai. With NATO member Turkey involved, experts fear any escalation could trigger a massive regional and global crisis.

00:01Former Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard is back.
00:05And this time, nobody can lock him up for what he's saying.
00:09Let's go back to the beginning.
00:11In 1987, Jonathan Pollard, a U.S. Navy intelligence analyst,
00:17was convicted of passing classified documents to Israel.
00:21Not a handful of files. Not a USB drive.
00:25Over 800 highly classified documents.
00:28Materials so vast, analysts said it could fill an entire room.
00:34What was in those documents?
00:36Arab military capabilities.
00:38U.S. signals intelligence.
00:40Soviet tracking data.
00:42Among the most sensitive secrets America possessed.
00:45He was sentenced to life in prison.
00:48Paroled in 2015.
00:50And in 2020, he moved to Israel.
00:53But it is not his politics that have grabbed the world's attention this week.
00:57It is his warning.
00:59In a recent interview, Pollard said, and we quote,
01:03We have to be prepared for the next war, which will probably be against Turkey and Egypt.
01:09The storm is coming.
01:10He also suggested Israel should consider nuclear options against Iran.
01:16Let that sink in.
01:17A man with deep intelligence connections, now a public political figure in Israel,
01:23is openly naming Turkey and Egypt as Israel's next wars and pointing at a nuclear solution for Iran.
01:31Now, are these the ravings of a fringe voice?
01:35Look at what is actually happening on the ground.
01:38On Egypt, the 1979 Camp David peace treaty still holds, but it is holding by a thread.
01:45Since October 7th, 2023, Egypt has deployed tens of thousands of troops into the Sinai.
01:53Tanks, air defenses, including advanced HQ-9B systems, extended runways, new military facilities,
02:01all in areas restricted under the peace treaty.
02:04Israel has publicly flagged this buildup as a long-term threat.
02:09Netanyahu himself raised it in 2025 and 2026.
02:14Egypt says it is for counter-terrorism and Gaza border security.
02:19Israel is watching, and it is worried.
02:21On Turkey, the situation is even more explosive in tone.
02:26President Erdogan has spent years positioning himself as the Muslim world's loudest voice against Israel.
02:39And just days ago, during Eid al-Adda prayers, Erdogan said publicly, and we quote,
02:46God willing, this tyrant called Netanyahu will receive the lesson he deserves from the Muslims of the world.
02:52That is a head of state speaking at a religious ceremony to millions of followers calling for a lesson to
03:00be delivered to another country's leader.
03:02Israel and its allies called it inflammatory, threatening, dangerous.
03:08And Erdogan is not just talking.
03:10Turkey has been expanding influence in Syria, competing with Israel in the eastern Mediterranean over energy, building relationships with Palestinian
03:19factions.
03:19Some analysts now openly describe Turkey as Israel's next strategic challenger after Iran.
03:26But here's where Pollard's warning enters truly dangerous territory.
03:31Turkey is a NATO member.
03:33If Israel were ever to strike Turkey, Article 5 of the NATO treaty kicks in.
03:39Every NATO ally, including the United States, would face pressure to respond in Turkey's defense.
03:45Think about that.
03:47The U.S., Israel's closest ally, legally obligated to defend a country Israel just attacked.
03:54The diplomatic and military consequences would be unlike anything the post-war world has seen.
04:00Washington would almost certainly move to prevent that scenario.
04:04But in a region where miscalculations happen daily, the risk of a spiral is real.
04:10So, is Jonathan Pollard right?
04:13Not necessarily in terms of imminent war.
04:16Direct conflict between Israel and either Egypt or Turkey remains low probability.
04:22The treaties, the alliances, the mutual costs all act as breaks.
04:27But the breaks are getting weaker.
04:29The rhetoric is hotter than it has been in decades.
04:32The military build-ups are real.
04:34The diplomatic channels are fraying.
04:37And a man who once risked everything to give Israel an edge is now standing in the public square saying,
04:43the storm is coming.
04:45Whether you trust Pollard or not, you cannot ignore the clouds gathering behind him.
