00:00Well, good Thursday morning for Mackinac Island. Day three of the Mackinac Policy Conference
00:04getting underway. The talk on Main Street down here is about the ferries that get the
00:08visitors out to the island. Until recently, it was a handful of separate companies. Now
00:11it's one large conglomerate that owns it all. Some say it's a monopoly. In fact, there's
00:16a federal lawsuit and the new owners are threatening to stop service to the island if they can't
00:20raise prices as high as they want. That's one to watch. Yesterday, day two, was a big
00:24one. Let's sign this bill. Thank you.
00:26But the governor signing the bipartisan Selfridge bill into law on the porch, surrounded by
00:31dignitaries. And today, data centers and AI are back on the spotlight. There's a full
00:35court press by the vast majority of attendees here saying Michigan needs to get on board.
00:40If we don't embrace large data centers, they'll go elsewhere. We lose the investments. The
00:45key is we learned during the recent WWG special on the subject. There has to be protections
00:49for the residents. So back out here on Main Street, another sunny, warm day. Listening
00:53for reports throughout the day from the Mackinac Policy Conference. For now, Tim Pamplin,
