00:00Yeah, so good day, it's David Jones from the Bureau of Meteorology. I'm based in Hobart in Tasmania,
00:05but part of a research team which works right across Australia. Now, what are we doing? We're
00:09working with the Queensland Government and the University of Southern Queensland on a program
00:15called the Northern Australian Climate Program. And what we're running at the moment in Kingaroy
00:21today, Chinchilla tomorrow, our workshops basically produce is taking climate information and making
00:28it's sort of locally relevant to producers. So, we introduce the products, we talk about how we've
00:34got about it, we seek feedback, but probably more important, we actually try to lift the literacy.
00:38So, you know, we coach people to ask questions, you know, why do you do that? You know, why are
00:43we talking
00:43about it on the, you know, those kind of things. So it's really an education piece, a familiarity piece,
00:48but also trying to get that feedback, you know, what can we do? What can we do better? You know,
00:52how can we make information more relevant to agriculture?
