00:02Tegna named Fox Television Station's executive Patrick Pellini as its new CEO on Tuesday,
00:08effective June 1st, according to Reuters.
00:11Pellini brings more than 30 years of local broadcast experience to the role,
00:15most recently serving as executive vice president of advertising sales at Fox Television Stations
00:20since 2023.
00:21Pellini will oversee daily operations and local news production,
00:25reporting directly to Tegna's board.
00:27He previously managed Fox's Washington, D.C. stations, WTTG Fox 5, and WDCA Fox 5 Plus,
00:36and succeeds Mike Stieb.
00:38The appointment comes as Tegna works to resolve a court order
00:41blocking its $6.2 billion merger with Nexstar.
00:44Tegna operates 64 local television stations across 51 U.S. markets,
00:50and the merger would create the largest broadcast station group,
00:53reaching 80% of American households.
