00:17eight to be specific who found a dog tied up outside of their station now along with the dog
00:26was a handwritten letter asking for help a disabled veteran had tied up his dog jake and he said it

00:35the hardest choice he ever had to make he had been homeless for just under two years and the homeless
00:43veteran only known as tom said this was not easy but he wanted to leave him in a safe place
00:51and the
00:53lieutenant of the fire station said well he he left him in a safe place that's for sure right and
00:57it's it's hard as a dog owner and we all love dogs and and shannon i know you and your
01:02whole family
01:02immersed into dog rescue yeah and you see a lot of uh a lot of them come back to the
01:09shelter
01:09right and it's very sad it really really is sad so the story starts spreading online and the
01:15department's hope team began to work with the disabled veteran tom to rebuild his life wow and
01:23go seek him out and help him out what's incredible is bennett's camping center is donating an rv camper
01:31for tom to live in while firefighters assisted with transportation to medical medical appointments
01:37meetings and setting up the camper in a safe location that's so cool yeah the department says tom
01:43has been overwhelmed with the kindness and here's the best part of the whole story well where's jake
01:48yeah where's the dog the dog has officially been adopted by firefighters at station eight and now
01:54lives at the firehouse firefighters say the dog has settled in very quickly spending time with the crew
02:01and getting and greeting all the firefighters when they return from calls and in a social media update
02:06they said both tom and jake's lives have been changed for the better by the events that followed that
02:11letter at their station i love that he doesn't just have one owner he has like multiple owners and
02:16they're all friends that's so cool i love that and all of those firefighters have a good boy yeah
