A 50-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after alleging stabbing two people and setting fire to a home in Ipswich, west of Brisbane. A teenage boy and 40-year-old woman remain in hospital in a stable condition as investigators try to piece together what happened.

00:44The teenage boy was taken here to the Queensland Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries,
00:50but his condition has since improved.
00:52The woman also remains stable at Brisbane Martyr Hospital.
00:56The accused didn't apply for bail when the case was briefly mentioned in the Ipswich Magistrates Court.
