A Malaysian citizen who was trapped in an apartment hotel next to a collapsed building in Angeles City, Pampanga, in the northern Philippines, has died, according to local media on Sunday (May 25).

00:01A Malaysian man was among three people killed after a building under construction collapsed
00:07in Angeles early Sunday morning.
00:09The collapse also damaged a nearby apartment hotel, trapping several people under the debris.
00:15Authorities identified the Malaysian victim as 65-year-old Mohammad Rezal Abdullah from
00:21Sabah.
00:22According to Acting Philippine Fire Chief Rico Kwan Tew, the victim had managed to communicate
00:27with rescuers by phone shortly after the collapse at around 3 a.m.
00:33However, he was later found dead beneath the rubble.
00:37Authorities said 18 people are still believed missing, while rescue operations remain ongoing.
00:42A total of 26 people had already been rescued from the site so far.
00:47Officials added that many victims were believed to have been asleep when the incident happened
00:52in the early hours of the morning.
00:53The cause of the collapse has yet to be determined.
