Responders recovered a live chicken in the collapsed building in Angeles City, Pampanga, on Thursday, June 4.
The chicken, found during the 12th day of search and retrieval operations, is believed to be owned by one of the workers affected by the incident. Responders said it may have been responsible for several life detector activations recorded in the area in the past few days.
These gave rescue teams hope that people may still be alive in the building. Two more bodies were recovered on Wednesday evening in the building, bringing the death toll to 27. (Video courtesy of BFP Central Luzon via Liezle Basa-Iñigo | MB)
