00:10a young man was attacked while spearfishing on a local reef.

00:22The 39-year-old was visiting Kennedy Shoal between Cardwell and Mission Beach,
00:27popular among divers and anglers.
00:29Before midday, he was bitten by a shark and pulled from the water with critical injuries.
00:35He was retrieved from the water by another person who was in the water with him at the time of
00:40the attack.
00:41The 39-year-old was brought here to Hull River Ramp, where he was assessed by emergency crews.
00:47Despite their best efforts, he didn't survive.
00:50Police would like to appeal for any persons that were in the vicinity of Kennedy Shoal
00:54to please contact police with any information that may assist in the investigation.
00:58It marks the second fatal shark attack in as many weeks.
