00:00All right, folks, this Brendan Sorsby story is absolutely getting wild now.
00:06Here's a kid that first wanted to think about entering the supplemental draft
00:10of the National Football League.
00:11Then he wanted to get his eligibility back at Texas Tech
00:15and try to get back into the NCAA.
00:17Now we have a temporary injunction that has now been filed,
00:23and there's a hearing now that's set up here in a couple days here
00:26at June 1 in Texas for this quarterback to be able to get an opportunity
00:30to get his eligibility back.
00:33This lawsuit, again, against the NCAA, according to the case doc,
00:37will begin at 9 a.m. locally on the 1st,
00:40and Judge Ken Curry, who has no degree from Texas Tech,
00:45has been assigned a case.
00:46And get this, the reason he's been assigned a case
00:49is because the previous judge had to recuse himself
00:53because he was a Texas Tech guy.
00:56All right, so how that plays into this goes back
01:00to the Trinidad-Chamlis case.
01:02Remember the judge that gave the temporary injunction for him to play?
01:07Had Ole Miss ties.
01:09So what the NCAA did was made sure that there was no affiliation
01:14with a judge that was going to hear this case.
01:18Trinidad-Chamlis won that case, in my opinion,
01:21because you had an Ole Miss alum that was the judge that allowed that sixth year.
01:27I know, confusing.
01:29This is what you get, though, when you get the NCAA.
01:33This is what you get when you get players fighting for their eligibility.
01:37You get a lot of information that's not true by the NCAA.
01:42The problem with this whole case obviously comes back to eligibility now.
01:46Now, the NCAA, who's knee-deep into gambling,
01:49just the same way that the National Football League is,
01:52is now saying that this kid's eligibility is up because, again,
01:58he's in a situation with all of this gambling stuff that happened in high school
02:02and also happened at Indiana University when he was the backup quarterback.
02:07Let's not forget, he just signed a $6 million NIL deal
02:11with the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
02:14So he's supposed to be the starting quarterback for this football team.
02:18He was also doing this when he was at the University of Cincinnati.
02:22So, again, gambling is a no-no when it comes to the NFL.
02:26I can guarantee you his agent went to him and said,
02:30you've got to get your eligibility back.
02:33You've got to play in college football because the National Football League
02:37is not going to hold a supplemental draft for a guy who's got pending issues
02:42when it comes to gambling.
02:43That's not going to happen.
02:45He's not going to get that opportunity.
02:47Now, I think there will be a boatload of teams that will have interest in this kid.
02:52This kid would have been, and if he does get into college football,
02:55will be one of the top candidates for the Heisman Trophy.
02:58He is a fine ball player, and Texas Tech season could be hinging on this guy.
03:04But make no mistake, the National Communist Association of America,
03:09the NCAA, is in a pickle here because if this case does go to court,
03:15I believe that he's going to win this case.
03:18I think Brendan Soresby will win this case.
03:21Now, listen, wide range of gambling habits across 2002.
03:25This is why the NFL, by the way, is not going to be in bed with this on bringing him
03:30into the league.
03:31I mean, 2022 to 2025, this guy has placed thousands of bets, thousands of bets on everything and anything.
03:44These bets weren't for the purpose of making money.
03:47This is, again, he bet on things like games in the Turkish Basketball League, the Romanian soccer games,
03:56obscure things like tennis matches and Nathan's famous hot dog eating contest.
04:04This guy's a rag.
04:06Hey, you talk about a guy with a habit.
04:08I mean, he's betting on Turkish games.
04:14Hey, man, now, I'm going to say this guy's got a problem.
04:18I think that's an understatement.
04:20You want that in National Football League when he's out there on the field with the potential of having the
04:26game on the line,
04:27and you're trying to tell me you don't think a guy like that would beat Paul Crew from the longest
04:33yard and not throw a game?
04:36This guy here, Brendan Soresby, Paul Crew.
04:40Go back and watch the movie.
04:42This guy here, you can imagine he was the face of a franchise with that kind of gambling habit.
04:48Him playing in the National Football League, his chances are very small.
04:54That is not happening.
04:56So you're going to be with two minutes left in a football game,
04:59and Brendan Soresby, a guy who bets on Turkish baths, is going to be a guy that's going to be
05:07your starting quarterback,
05:09and you'll be doing this.
05:10Hey, was that a complete pass, or did he throw it?
05:14Hey, wait a minute.
05:15How come the point spread, he's really playing hard, and they're down 31-6?
05:22Hey, you got to love this guy, Hay.
05:24Hey, I mean, I'm sure Roger Goodell would love to have a guy like this.
05:29Paul Crew Soresby, playing for your Cleveland Browns.
05:33There he is.
