00:00Hey, shalom, brothers and sisters. Welcome back. Today I want to talk about something
00:05that's called pitfalls of drunkenness. We all know about that. We've all known somebody's
00:13done it. And you know, some of us, you know, some people do it. Some people don't. Some
00:18people can handle it better than others. But anyways, I got scripture here I want to share
00:24with you today. And we're going to start with Revelation. And this is more of a spiritual
00:29drunkenness, not physical, spiritual. And 17, 17 verse 6. And I saw the woman drunken with
00:39the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Yeshua. And when I saw her,
00:44I wondered with great admiration. So she wasn't a literal woman drinking, drinking blood and
00:52mixed with wine. But it was, the woman symbolizes a harlot church, a false church. I'm going to skip
01:01over to 18 verse 3. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
01:10And the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her. And the merchants of the
01:15earth have waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. So, of course, that sounds familiar
01:22today with the merchants and inflation and high prices and then making a killing. But in the end
01:30times, it's going to get harder like that, too. It's going to be like that. So now I want to
01:35go back
01:35to Genesis with Noah. Of course, you know, after the flood, Noah came to rest in the mountains of
01:45Ararat. He planted a vineyard and then he got drunk. But you don't know if it's purposely or if he
01:55did it
01:56by mistake. But it's in chapter 9 verse 21. And he drank of the wine and was drunken and he
02:06was
02:06uncovered within his tent. It's the case where he got drunk and passed out and Ham and his son
02:13Cannon went in there and they did something so deplorable and despicable. The Bible don't clarify
02:18what they did. Some people say that they castrated them because they didn't want to share the
02:23inheritance. Others said they sodomized them because they were drunk, too. And others said
02:30they raped their own mother, Noah's wife. But whatever it was, it was so bad that Noah, when he
02:41sobered up the next day, he pronounced a curse on Cannon. And, you know, throughout the biblical
02:46history there, the people of Cannon has always been cursed. But we're going to skip over to
02:55Deuteronomy now. Now, Deuteronomy 29 verse 6 says, states,
03:04You have not eaten bread, neither have you drunk wine or strong drink, that you might know that I am
03:11Yahweh, your Elohim. So that's plainly stated right there. Excuse me. Now, Proverbs has a rich abundance
03:23of life's lessons. And if you go to chapter 20 of Proverbs, verse 1, it also says,
03:35Well, wine is a mocker, strong drink, is raging, and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
03:43Now, we're going to skip over down to
03:48chapter 23,
03:51verse 29, 30, 31,
03:5432, 33, 34, and 35.
03:59Who hath woe, who hath sorrow, who hath contentions, who hath babbling, who hath wounds without cause,
04:07who hath redness of the eyes, they that tarry long at the wine, they will go seek mixed drink,
04:15mixed wine. Well, look not upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his color in the cup,
04:23when it moveth itself up all right. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an
04:31adder. Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
04:38Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he hath liest
04:45upon the top
04:46of the mast. They have stricken me, and shalt thou say that I was not sick.
04:54They have beaten me, and I felt it not. When shall I wake? I will seek it yet again.
05:01So, it's just repetitious
05:06movements, you know. Wake up, start over again, start over again.
05:15Now, go to 26,
05:1926, 9.
05:21Let's see what it states here.
05:26As a thorn goeth up into the hand
05:28of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
05:34So, you know, my input on it, though, is drinking itself isn't necessarily bad.
05:43You know, moderate or whatever.
05:47But, you know, if you get blasted, you know, you can succumb to certain influences.
05:54You should, you know, really lose control, do things you don't want to do, things like that.
05:59You know, you know, like, uh,
06:02book of Acts at the beginning, when, uh,
06:05when, uh, the apostles were
06:07baptized, baptized with fire and the Holy Spirit, and they went out and
06:10started speaking in
06:12different languages, preaching, preaching the gospel.
06:16You know, people, the crowd thought they were drunk, but it was too early in the morning
06:20for them to be drunk, and they weren't drunk anyways.
06:22But, um, I tell you, you know, you know, when, uh,
06:26Paul told Timothy, you know, to
06:28drink a little bit of wine for his stomach ailment, you know,
06:32some people say it's grape juice, others say no, it's, you know, it's alcohol.
06:36But it could be either, but it's kind of hard to say because of the translation.
06:40The translation from fermented and unfermented is kind of,
06:43kind of cloudy, you know, in the English version from
06:47the Greek version.
06:48It doesn't necessarily say if it's non-alcoholic or alcoholic.
06:53And you got to also remember that,
06:55that Yeshua also
06:57turned water into wine and,
06:59and is a bad, best wine, I guess,
07:03better than the ones that the banquet people are
07:05drinking.
07:06And, you know,
07:07people don't drink, consume tons and tons of
07:10non-alcoholic wine,
07:13get bloated,
07:14you know,
07:14but they do,
07:15it's been known that people,
07:16you know,
07:17drink tons and tons of
07:19alcohol just,
07:20just to feel better,
07:21numb themselves,
07:22get drunk,
07:22you know,
07:23but,
07:24but, uh,
07:26I want to go back to,
07:27should go to, uh,
07:29first Corinthians
07:315.11.
07:335.11 says,
07:34But now I have written unto you not to keep
07:37company,
07:37if any man that is called a brother be a
07:40fornicator,
07:41covetous,
07:42or a dollar tour,
07:43or a railer,
07:44or a drunkard,
07:45or a extortioner,
07:46with such an one is not to eat with.
07:51So that's, uh,
07:53that's Paul's,
07:54what Paul's trying to tell the,
07:55the church right there,
07:57you know,
07:58because they,
07:58apparently they've had a little bit of
08:01problems,
08:01they needed some instructions.
08:04Now,
08:056.10,
08:07go to 6.10 here,
08:08just in 1 Corinthians.
08:12Nor thieves,
08:13nor covetous,
08:13nor drunkards,
08:14nor revelers,
08:15nor extortioners,
08:16shall inherit the kingdom of Yahweh.
08:19None of them will.
08:21And, uh,
08:22you need to,
08:23you need to remember that,
08:24and take it to heart,
08:26you know,
08:27and pray for the,
08:28pray for the people,
08:29stay strong,
08:29stay for the,
08:30pray for the people,
08:32you know,
08:32help,
08:33try to help them out when they're there
08:34the best you can.
08:36You know,
08:36the people,
08:37you know,
08:37most of them ain't,
08:38you know,
08:40don't know what they're doing,
08:41they're,
08:41you know,
08:42normal lives,
08:43but there's some people out there
08:44that can't hold up a job,
08:46they can't,
08:47you know,
08:48they beg,
08:49they steal,
08:50just for that bottle.
08:52But there's others
08:53that drink responsibly,
08:54or they,
08:55at least they hold up jobs
08:56and everything,
08:57don't cause trouble,
08:57don't get in trouble with the law.
08:59That's perfectly,
09:00that's,
09:01that's fine,
09:02but,
09:02you know,
09:03that's on a physical basis,
09:05but spiritual and health,
09:06health-wise is another thing too.
09:08Uh,
09:10but anyways,
09:11you know,
09:11there's always been a controversy
09:12about,
09:13you know,
09:15should,
09:15should Christians
09:16or Messianics,
09:18should they drink at all,
09:19you know,
09:20and,
09:20you know,
09:21and,
09:21uh,
09:22the Passover,
09:23Christian Passover,
09:24you know,
09:25they use,
09:25most of the,
09:26most of the churches
09:28that do the Christian Passover,
09:30they actually use real wine,
09:32but they don't guzzle it,
09:33they don't take shots of it
09:35or anything like that
09:36and get out of hand.
09:37It's more ceremonial
09:39and everything,
09:40symbolic.
09:41Uh,
09:42but anyways,
09:43that's all I wanted to say
