00:00Another team that I had some eyes on early in the season, Craig, were the Texas Rangers.
00:04They're sitting here under .500 at this point, heading into Memorial Day weekend, 24 and 27.
00:09Played a lot of teams with records above .500, sitting at .14 and .17.
00:12Close in one-run games, about .500, and their expected win total is actually better than what their win total
00:17is right now at .24 and .27.
00:20But the one thing we always look to, how's Corey Seager doing?
00:22Lower back inflammation, never a good sign.
00:24It seems like there's so much talent on this team, Craig, but every time I look at them,
00:28they just can't stay healthy in the lineup for long periods of time to keep that momentum going.
00:33Yeah, I do think that their best baseball is ahead of them.
00:36That I would say.
00:37I'm a little surprised that they're three games under .500, but I do think that they'll find water eventually.
00:44Because I think, look, if Uvalde is healthy and some of the other players, as you mentioned, like Seager,
00:49I do think that they can fight for a wild-card spot similar to Toronto, similar to Seattle.
00:55I think they'll be in that mix.
00:56But that Gore trade that they got, that did not work out thus far.
01:01It doesn't look great.
01:02They did make a good trade by getting Brandon Nimmo, Donnie.
01:05I don't know what in the world the Mets were doing, by the way, with that trade.
01:08Like, what?
01:09I mean, we're going to have to study that one.
01:11Then Marcus Simi, oh, we want to get better on defense.
01:14Oh, my gosh.
01:14Have you seen Simi in play?
01:16I've been watching this weekend, Donnie.
01:17I don't know what is going on there.
01:18I mean, this guy used to be a really good player, but I'm a little scared there to say that
01:22it could be, like, over.
01:23I don't know.
01:24But, yeah, Texas, they'll be okay.
01:26They'll fight.
01:27They'll be 500, a little bit better, a little bit worse.
01:29And I think they'll be there in the end.
01:32But they did not expect to get off to a 24-27 start.
01:36And through 51 games, it hasn't been pretty.
01:39Can they hold off Seattle, Donnie?
01:41Because I think Seattle is primed to make a big run in the second half.
01:46Can Texas hold that off and stay in it with them?
01:49Because I do believe, in the end, the Mariners are going to win the division.
01:53And they should be able to.
01:54And, by the way, the pitching staff there for the Rangers, like, okay, DeGrom is having a sensational start.
01:583.86 ERA now.
02:00Nathan Evaldi is supposed to be your ace, 3.65, which isn't terrible.
02:03But then you take a look at Mackenzie Gore, 4.78.
02:06Jack Leiter, 4.61.
02:07There's your ERA leader.
02:08Yeah, of course.
02:09It's Kumar Rocker.
