00:00So I've got the complete list of non-tendered players, and I want you to kind of give me the elevator pitch, and we'll spend more time on the larger names, but I want you to give me the elevator pitch on why they could be good ads for a lot of teams around Major League Baseball.
00:13I'm going to skip the names like Gustavo Campero and Sebastian Rivero.
00:17I'll skip Ramona Rias, too, because Rias is just like a bench infielder or whatever.
00:21J.J. Bledet, why is he intriguing?
00:23Well, I think step one, whoever adds J.J. Bledet won't run him out in center field the majority of the time.
00:29I don't really know why the athletics did that.
00:31So, you know, Bledet is coming off of a 2024 season where, you know, he had a 120 WRC plus and hit 20 homers and gave you three F4.
00:42For whatever reason, you know, the A's have run Bledet in the last couple of years out in center field a ton.
00:49He's not even a very good corner outfielder, so I don't know what that was, but they continue to run him out there last year, too.
00:56And I don't think that helped when you're also struggling offensively.
00:59He has negative 27 defensive runs saved in the last two years in center field.
01:05But in the corners, he grades out just about average, maybe slightly below.
01:09So get this guy in a corner, getting him up an opportunity to, you know, just focus on the offensive side of things.
01:16And again, maybe you can get back to that 120 WRC plus that he put up.
01:20This wasn't over 110 games, it was 159 games in 2024.
01:25Yeah.
01:26Alec Manoa, are you taking a shot?
01:28Alec Manoa was non-tendered by the Braves.
01:31Yeah.
01:32You know, I think he still deserves a few shots here.
01:36See what he's got.
01:37You know, I think we haven't really fully seen him come back and see what it all could look like.
01:42Like, we only got a little bit of AAA action last year where it didn't look great, but, you know, I still think he's worth a shot, no?
01:52I think so.
01:53I would totally think so.
01:55And, you know, it's probably as a minor league deal and you've got to prove it.
01:58A guy that is worthy of a major league deal, if his arm is okay, he was dealing with forearm discomfort.
02:03Evan Phillips was non-tendered by the Dodgers.
02:05Evan Phillips was one of the better relievers and more underrated relievers in baseball for a couple of years there.
02:10He's just been dealing with a variety of injuries.
02:12This seems like the two-year deal that somebody just throws at him.
02:16Yeah.
02:16I mean, it's like with relievers, man, when they've got the history of doing it, you know, and even when Phillips was on the mound early in this year, like, the stuff was still loud, you know, before he got hurt.
02:29So, yeah, it is a guy that I think plenty of teams will probably be one of the busier in terms of the non-tendered players and all the offers that he'll get because it's a really good fastball.
02:39He's got the sweeper, and, you know, we see this happen all the time with relievers, and they bounce right back and ball out.
02:46Are you fascinated by Will Brennan at all, the outfielder that was non-tendered by the Guardians?
02:50I know you are.
02:51I know I am.
02:52I mean, like, I would absolutely take him on in a minor league deal.
02:55I feel like there's going to be a team that throws him a one-year, $2 million major league deal.
03:00It should be, like, a Rockies type.
03:02I was – so I want to work on this separately.
03:04I was texting Peyton Genis, our video extraordinaire.
03:08I was like, I want to create a YouTube video of just, like, trying to build, like, the best Rockies team possible.
03:16But, like, I want to look at all of the players who have succeeded at Coors over the last 10 years and stack us here, whatever.
03:21I won't bore you with all the details.
03:22We have time constraints here.
03:23But my early thought is, like, contact-oriented guys with better than 30-grade power that would just, I think, eat there.
03:32And why not go for, like, a Will Brennan type and see how it works out there?
03:38They have way too many swing-and-miss guys in Colorado, both in the system and in the big leagues, for a home environment that rewards you for just putting the ball in play.
03:47All of these guys – how does the altitude help you if you strike out too much?
03:53And that's all the Rockies pursue.
03:54I don't understand it.
03:56But, yeah, like, a Will Brennan would make sense in that regard.
03:59That's – you look at his 2024 season as well, he was close to league average offensively and, you know, can play a decent, you know, corner outfield and plug in and center in a pinch.
04:09Our guy Max Kranick is recovering from an elbow surgery again right now.
04:14But, again, seems like that kind of two-year partially guaranteed deal, maybe a split deal where you can just break into a bullpen.
04:22Like, it's a fun four-seam slider combo.
04:24Yeah, I mean, he kind of screams like a type of guy that the Marlins would love to bring in, right, where, you know, you can kind of Jansen junk Swiss Army knife this guy and then wait.
04:35All of a sudden, he might just be an outright starter with the stuff the way it looks.
04:38So, you know, I think he's a – it's all about the health for Kranick.
04:42We've talked about it, obviously, especially you have a familiarity with him.
04:46And so, we're always going to think he's underrated, but I really do think he is underrated.
04:51And what he was doing in the early going in 2025 was spectacular.
04:53He was kind of holding that bullpen up in the early part of the season.
04:57And, you know, we've seen him at big league success and other stints as well.
05:00You know, I know the overall numbers aren't great, but he's had some really impressive outings and looked like the best version of himself in 2025.
05:09So, I think plenty of teams are going to be interested in, you know, adding him as kind of a Swiss Army knife type of arm.
05:14So, Pirates non-tendered Alexander Canario, who was a Cubs prospect for a while, is there any level of intrigue left for you?
05:23I think so.
05:24I think more of, like, the short platoon guy, right?
05:26Just go crush lefties.
05:29It was kind of surprising how much he struggled in general this year, but still just 25 years old.
05:36So, I think the odds are stacked against him when you look at some of the underlying data, but there's still enough there, I think, with the ability to play all three outfield spots.
05:44And the power that he has.
