00:00Changes were made there for the Toronto Blue Jays, bringing in some pictures, changing up.
00:04But the one thing I needed out of the Toronto Blue Jays was,
00:06Vladdy, get your power stroke back.
00:08We'll get to that in a minute.
00:09But here, take a look at the Jays.
00:11I mean, they are sitting in third place right now Memorial Day weekend in the ALEs, 25 and 27 on
00:15the season.
00:1630 games, though, against teams above 500 was pretty impressive.
00:205 and 10 in those one-run games, they're expected was 26 and 26.
00:23So they're right on the number they have.
00:25But as I look at that roster, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., heading into Memorial Day weekend, Craig, three home runs?
00:32Come on, that's not it.
00:34That's not it for me, Craig.
00:36Right.
00:36So that's the good news, if you look at it, actually, right?
00:40Like, that's the silver lining to this, is that Toronto is worse than what we thought.
00:45They're 25 and 27.
00:46We know that they have more talent than they've shown.
00:49So this would be a bye team for me, going into the post-Memorial Day season.
00:54Now, bye.
00:55To what degree, Donnie?
00:56I don't know that they're going to have this epic run all the way to the World Series and find
01:00some young guy like Ysavage again to just carry them into Game 7.
01:04Like, that I don't think happens.
01:06But I do think that the Blue Jays will finish above Boston.
01:09They'll finish above Baltimore.
01:12And doesn't it feel like this is the team, Donnie, with a week to go, is going to need to
01:16win, like, five out of seven or something like that to creep into the wild card?
01:19So I would not write them off.
01:22Gossman is good.
01:23Cease is good.
01:23They have good pitching.
01:25I would hang in there on Toronto.
01:26I don't think they're dead yet.
01:28Yeah.
01:29And when you look at their starting pitching staff, too, because you look at their, say, wait a second, under
01:33500 at this point, what gives at this point?
01:35Because their run differential is still a little bit underwater, playing better baseball this week.
01:39But you say to yourself, all right, well, Dylan Cease, 2.98 ERA, 57 in the third innings.
01:44That's exactly what you'll take there.
01:45Trey Yusevich, 25 in the third innings, pitch, Craig, 1.07 ERA.
01:49Spencer Miles, who actually won a game this past week in a first five-inning wager against the New York
01:53Yankees, he's been good.
01:55Usually you have the opener in front of him, then he comes in.
01:57He's pitched 29 innings here, Craig, 2.17 ERA.
02:00Gossman, 3-2-3 ERA.
02:01And then Patrick Corbin, which is usually looked at, hey, that guy's fodder out there, 44 in the third innings,
02:06pitch, Craig, a 3.86 ERA.
02:08So we talk about teams like the Orioles really struggling at this point, saying, hey, you can't win baseball games
02:13with an ERA that high.
02:14This pitching staff looks pretty good here.
02:16And if you can get what you think you can get out of Yusevich and the crew, maybe they can
02:19hang around and turn that corner.
02:21Yeah, and you would expect Guerrero to hit 20 home runs probably at the end of the year, right?
02:2620, so that means 17 more, you know, is potentially coming there.
02:30So I am not going to just completely jump on Baltimore.
02:34They feel like, I feel like they have a good manager there.
02:36I feel like they did the things the right way getting to the World Series.
02:40So let's just pause on them for now and figure that they're in the wildcard chase.
02:45I don't think that they're better than Tampa or New York, but I do think that they'll fight their way
02:50back into a position.
02:51And then, you know, we'll get to game 154.
02:54Toronto's going to need to win most of them, I would guess, right?
02:56Like to get to the wildcard, maybe that final spot.
02:59That's sort of what I project them for this season.
03:0285-86 wins, somewhere along there.
