00:00The earlier day after President Donald Trump of the United States of America, the USA announced the killing of Abu
00:06Bilal al-Minuki, the second in command of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, ISIS in a joint operation
00:13with Nigeria soldiers in Borno State, a new video of the abducted 416 women and children in Boko Haram captivity
00:23has been released in addition to a gory video earlier released by the terrorists wherein they beheaded almost
00:29six men who the insurgents said tried to escape among the kidnapped victims. This had led to public outcry and
00:37demonstrations, but according to Punch newspaper, protesters are reportedly denied the rights to protest in Mediguri, the Borno State capital,
00:45saying, the army reportedly deployed tanks and heavily armed personnel to fill in Polo, the venue of the recent planned
00:52protest, forcing the demonstrators to withdraw, quoting Sumaila Kaigama, leader of the protesters,
00:59As saying, the atmosphere created by the military deployment made it impossible for citizens to continue with the demonstration, that
01:07the development is deeply disturbing in a constitutional democracy, it may be recalled that we have reported that President Bola
01:14Ahmed Tanubu of Nigeria may have kept nudes since more than 48 hours.
01:20A faction of Boko Haram terrorists showed off 416 people mostly women and children kidnapped and held hostage when the
01:29members of the Jamaat-u-Ali-Sanah Liderauti Wall Jihad, JAS, launched a large-scale combat actions between 4th to
01:37the 6th of March 2026 against the men of the armed forces of Nigeria, AFN, overran the Africa country military
01:46base at Ingosh, killing several soldiers,
01:49A figure the Nigeria authority disputed to be 14 after several reports indicated that more than 40 soldiers were killed
01:56during the attack.
01:58In addition to more than 100 civilians including Chief Iman of Ingosh alongside the community elders killed during the coordinated
02:06attacks that lasted days at Ingosh Community in Guoza local government area of Borno State.
02:12This, during the attack, numbers of people were also taken hostage by the insurgents, with speculations indicating that the hostages
02:21are apparently being held at the rugged terrain of the Mandara Mountains, which sit wide across the Nigeria border with
02:28Cameroon.
02:28In the released video, one of the spokespersons of the Boko Haram group said they decided to release a proof
02:35-of-life video of the 416 women and children in their captivity, following the demands made across to them by
02:42the Borno South Youths Alliance, Bosia, and according to the statement issued by the Bosia when they made the video
02:49public on Friday, April 10, 2026.
02:53The youths group called on federal government and governments at all level to ensure the hostages are released, saying specifically
03:00that
03:00We have witnessed cases in states such as Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebi where abducted victims regained freedom following interventions
03:10by individuals such as Sheikh Ahmed Gumi.
03:13We therefore expect equal urgency and commitment in addressing the plight of the Ingosh victims.
03:18No region or group of citizens should be treated with less priority.
03:23In one of the recent videos sent by the Boko Haram terrorists to the Borno youths group,
03:28The group said, Borno South Youth Alliance, Bosia, yesterday, now some days ago, at about 5.18pm, received a disturbing
03:37video showing the execution of about 4-5 men, both old and young, who reportedly attempted to escape from JAS,
03:45Boko Haram captivity.
03:47We at Borno South Youth Alliance, Bosia, have tried every possible intervention and humanitarian process available,
03:55Yet the 416 women, children, and a few men in captivity have largely been abandoned to their fate.
04:02This video is not intended to promote terrorism or any act related to it, but rather to expose the painful
04:09reality on the
04:10Ground, a reality we have spent over two months trying to prevent through continuous mediation and humanitarian pleas.
04:18Borno South Youth Alliance, Bosia, is calling on well-meaning southern Borno indigenes, political officeholders, political aspirants, every patriotic Nigerian
04:29from the North, South, East, and West, as well as international organizations,
04:35to urgently come to the rescue of these 416 women and children by supporting efforts toward the release of the
04:42first 50 women and children as earlier announced.
04:45Four to five people are already dead, more victims are sick, and some men who attempted to escape have now
04:52been killed.
04:53Lives are involved, and unimaginable suffering is taking place in captivity among these helpless people who feel abandoned and forgotten.
05:01Boko Haram released new video of 416 Ingosh abducted women and children crying for help after being abandoned by state
05:10and federal government including Borno South Senator.
05:13Let the world see and remember that the Nigerian government, Borno State Government, the Senator representing Southern Borno,
05:21the House of Representatives member, House of Assembly members, and Chairman representing Boza local government
05:27have abandoned these helpless women and children to their fate and have refused to secure their freedom by all possible
05:34means.
05:35Let the world, human rights organizations, and international bodies such as the United Nations, Amnesty International,
05:43and others see and remember how the lives of 416 women and children are being disregarded and devalued.
05:49Let the world know that under this government, 416 women and children were kidnapped,
05:56and under both the federal and state governments, no meaningful action has been taken.
06:01Let the world hear directly from the mouths of these captives that their federal government has failed them,
06:07their state government has abandoned them, and their Senator representing Southern Borno has ignored
06:12and even complicated the process of their release.
06:15Borno South Youth Alliance, Bosnia, organized a peaceful protest in Medjugorje, the Borno State Capitol,
06:23but the government responded by deploying heavy military presence and formations as though we were terrorists,
06:29while the real terrorists move freely, kidnapping and killing our people daily with little or no resistance.
06:35If the world is truly watching, then let them know that we are facing oppression from both sides.
06:41Political slavery has silenced us for too long, but we will remain silent no more because they have shown us
06:48that we are only useful to them every four years during elections.
06:52Borno South Youth Alliance, Bosnia, remains committed to humanitarian mediation and discussions
06:58toward the release of our Ingosh 416 women and children.
07:03Though we are exhausted and deeply disappointed by the lack of concern shown toward our people and our peaceful existence,
07:09we still call upon the government, every well-meaning Nigerian, international organizations,
07:15and even individuals willing to help secure the release of these helpless women and children.
07:21Already, some newborn babies and children have reportedly died from sickness and infections in captivity.
07:28More innocent lives may be lost if urgent action is not taken.
07:3250 women and children can be released today if 50 million naira is raised and offered to their captors.
07:39Nigerians, international organizations, and compassionate individuals around the world
07:45are urged to help save these innocent lives since the government has shown its true attitude toward these suffering people.
07:52Regardless of religion let us consider humanity first.
07:55Some say they are Muslims so Muslims alone should help them out.
07:59Both Muslims and Christians are at the receiving end of this menace let's be humans before anything.
08:04With due respect to the President of the Federal, Republic of Nigeria,
08:10His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tanubu, the world saw, and Nigerians witnessed,
08:15the kidnapping of 416 women and children in Ingosh, who was a local government area of Borno State.
08:22Yet, the Presidency neither issued an official statement nor publicly addressed the situation.
08:28This has left many people in southern Borno asking painful questions.
08:33Are we not Nigerians?
08:35Is the President only for a specific part of Nigeria?
08:39We asked these questions because we observed that the Presidency released a statement
08:43concerning the kidnapped teachers in Oyo State and assured the public that efforts were being made toward their rescue.
08:49That action demonstrated concern, empathy, and leadership toward the people affected in Oyo State.
08:57On the other hand, the people of Borno State, particularly southern Borno,
09:02have felt abandoned and ignored in the face of one of the most painful tragedies affecting our communities.
09:08Up until this moment, there has been little or no direct public reassurance from the Presidency
09:14regarding the safety and plight of the victims, despite security and protection of citizens being among the highest responsibilities of
09:21government.
09:22Borno South Youth Alliance, Bosnia, therefore wishes to express its deep dissatisfaction and disappointment
09:29regarding what many people perceive as unequal concern toward the suffering of southern Borno communities.
09:35On behalf of many concerned youths and indigenes of southern Borno,
09:40we respectfully urge the Presidency to show that every Nigerian life matters equally,
09:45regardless of region, ethnicity, or religion.
09:48We believe that the people of southern Borno deserve the same level of empathy,
09:53urgency, and public concern shown to citizens in other parts of the country.
09:58At this critical time, our people need reassurance, protection,
10:02and visible action from the highest office in the land,
10:06Samayla Ibrahim Kaigama, President, Borno South Youth Alliance,
10:10Bosnia, stated in numbers of press statements issued in recent days.
10:15Before the release of the new video of the abducted victims,
10:19the United States President Donald Trump had on Friday, May 15, 2026,
10:24based on America Time announced that Abu Bilal al-Minuki,
10:28described as the second in command of ISIS globally,
10:31was killed during a joint military operation carried out by American and Nigerian forces in Borno state.
10:38Trump said the operation was conducted under his direct order and involved what he described as a
10:43meticulously planned and very complex mission,
10:46executed by both the United States military and the armed forces of Nigeria.
10:52According to Trump, the targeted operation successfully eliminated al-Minuki,
10:57whom he called, the most active terrorist in the world.
11:00He revealed that the ISIS commander had been hiding in Africa
11:04while allegedly coordinating activities linked to global terror operations.
11:09Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the armed forces of Nigeria
11:15flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission
11:19to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield, Trump stated.
11:23The American president further claimed that intelligence sources closely monitored
11:28the ISIS leaders' movements before the operation was launched.
11:32He thought he could hide in Africa, but little did he know we had sources who kept us informed
11:38on what he was doing, Trump added.
11:40Trump also praised the Nigerian government for cooperating with the United States during the mission,
11:47saying the partnership played a major role in weakening ISIS operations globally.
11:51With his removal, ISIS's global operation is greatly diminished.
11:57Thank you to the government of Nigeria for your partnership on this operation.
12:02God bless America, he wrote, Nigeria defense headquarters in a press statement,
12:07said, the armed forces of Nigeria, in collaboration with United States forces
12:13has successfully conducted a meticulously planned and highly coordinated
12:17counter-terrorism operation resulting in the elimination of Abu Bilal al-Minuki,
12:23a senior ISIS leader and one of the world's most active terrorists.
12:27The precision operation was the result of our recently formed U.S.-Nigeria partnership
12:33and intelligence-sharing efforts.
12:35Together, we have disrupted a violent terrorist network that endangered Nigeria
12:40and the broader West African region.
12:42Our efforts represent a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to combat terrorism
12:47and violent extremism in Nigeria, the Lake Chad basin, the Sahil region and globally.
12:53Abu Bilal al-Minuki was a key ISIS operational and strategic figure who provided guidance
12:59to ISIS entities outside Nigeria on matters relating to media operations, economic warfare and the
13:06development and manufacturing of weapons, explosives and drones.
13:10His death removes a critical node through which ISIS coordinated and directed operations across
13:16different regions of the world.
13:18Intelligence further indicates that, as recently as February 2026,
13:24Minuki may have been elevated to the position of head of the General Directorate of States,
13:29placing him the second most senior leader within the ISIS global hierarchy.
13:33Prior to this, Minuki served in 2023 as the Nigeria-based Al-Furkan GDP of Hesemir,
13:41overseeing ISIS-linked operations across the Sahel and West Africa, including attacks against
13:47civilians, particularly ethnic and religious minority communities.
13:51The terrorist leader also maintained long-standing operational ties with ISIS-West Africa and was linked
13:57to the 2018 Dapchi kidnapping of over 100 schoolgirls.
14:01Intelligence records further show that between March 2015 and early 2016, he facilitated the
14:09movement of fighters to Libya in support of ISIS operations in North Africa.
14:14Before pledging allegiance to ISIS in 2015, Minuki was also recognized as a prominent leader
14:20within Boko Haram.
14:22The armed forces of Nigeria reiterate that this successful operation demonstrates Nigeria's
14:28unwavering resolve to confront terrorism and deny extremist groups the ability to threaten national,
14:34regional and international security.
14:36The operation equally underscores the importance of our Nigeria-United States collaboration,
14:42intelligence sharing and coordinated military action in defeating transnational terrorist networks.
14:47The defense headquarters commends the gallantry, professionalism and dedication of all personnel involved in the operation
14:55and appreciates the continued partnership and support of United States forces in the collective fight against terrorism.
15:02The armed forces of Nigeria remain steadfast in ongoing operations aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure,
15:09protecting civilians and ensuring lasting peace and stability across the nation and the wider region,
15:15Major General Samayla Uba, the director, defense information stated this on May 16, 2026.
15:22In a follow-up updates, the defense headquarters also stated that,
15:27the defense headquarters wishes to provide clarification following emerging public discourse
15:32regarding the recent neutralization of a high-profile terrorist commander, Abu Bilal al-Minuki,
15:39during a joint operation with the United States-Africa Command on the 16th of May, 2026.
15:45Certain media reports referencing a similar operation in 2024 have mentioned the elimination
15:51of a terrorist commander bearing the same name.
15:54This has understandably generated questions about the identity of the individual recently neutralized.
16:01It is important to state that within the northeast region and across the Lake Chad Basin,
16:07the use of similar or identical names, aliases and non-de-guess is common among ISWAP and Boko Haram terrorists.
16:14This is essentially part of their, indoctrination program which is aimed at deliberately obscuring identities.
16:21This fact has been established over the years in the course of counter-terrorism operations in the northeast of Nigeria.
16:29The Abu Bilal al-Minuki eliminated on the 16th of May, 2026 has been positively identified
16:35through human intelligence and technical surveillance as a senior global operative within the Islamic State Network,
16:42with direct links to international terrorist coordination, funding and operations across the Sahel.
16:48There is therefore no ambiguity in his identity.
16:52The strike is a significant milestone in our counter-terrorism efforts.
16:56The armed forces of Nigeria, in partnership with the United States,
17:00remain committed to dismantling terrorist networks and will continue to provide verified information through official channels.
17:07The general public and the media are pleased to rely only on these sources to avoid confusion from coincidental main
17:15similarities.
17:16On May 19, 2026, the Nigeria military said,
17:21The defense headquarters wishes to announce major successes in continuing counter-terrorism operations
17:26in close coordination with United States-Africa Command against ISIS terrorists in northeast Nigeria.
17:33It will be recalled that the joint strikes started a few days ago.
17:38As of 19 May 2026, assessments indicate that 175 ISIS terrorists have been eliminated from the battlefield.
17:47The joint strikes have resulted in the destruction of ISIS checkpoints, weapons caches, logistical hubs,
17:55military equipment and financial networks used to sustain terrorist operations.
17:59The operations have also resulted in the elimination of several senior ISIS leaders,
18:05including Abu Bilal al-Minuki, one of the most significant ISIS operatives in the world.
18:11Al-Minuki played a central role in ISIS external operations,
18:15coordinating terrorist financing, recruitment, logistics and attack planning targeting Nigerians and innocent civilians around the world.
18:24His death severely disrupts ISIS command, operational coordination and external attack networks.
18:31Other terrorist figures eliminated include ABD al-Wahhab,
18:35ISWAP senior leader responsible for coordinating attacks and distributing propaganda,
18:40Abu Moussa al-Mangawi, ISWAP senior member and Abu al-Mathana al-Mahajah,
18:47ISWAP senior media production team manager and close confidant to Al-Minuki.
18:52The joint strikes have further reinforced what the armed forces of Nigeria, AFN have consistently done over the years,
19:00hunt down and kill terrorists anywhere they are in Nigeria.
19:03The joint operations will continue to hunt down and destroy those who threaten our nation and regional stability.
19:14Osaswa al-Minuki, bringing you the news in a more digital way.
