00:30Thank you. Raise your hand for question in English, please.
00:33Who would like to start?
00:35Ben, sure.
00:39Hi, Mira. Ben Rothenberg-Bounces.
00:42You've been coming here for a lot of years now.
00:44Do you start to feel at all like, you know, you're getting the hang of this more
00:47as you're, you know, not really a rookie on this tour anymore at all,
00:51despite how young you are?
00:53Well, I do feel like I still haven't been here for a while,
00:57but yes, this is my 23rd, 24th, 25th, 4th year in Paris.
01:04And, oh, actually in 2022 I was playing juniors, so let's, it's my 5th year then.
01:09So yes, I've been coming here for quite some time and, you know,
01:13I'm always super happy to be here.
01:15It's obviously a second time of the year, special atmosphere.
01:20So I do kind of feel like I already am familiar with some of the stuff.
01:24I already know, you know, the people here that are working.
01:28I know a lot of players as well.
01:31So yes, but I still feel like I'm, I haven't been here for a long time.
01:37Hey, Mira.
01:39You're obviously playing great in singles, but also in doubles.
01:42You and Diana, I'm curious, what, what makes you such a good doubles player?
01:46I think that it's just because I love to play.
01:49And when I play doubles, I'm not as stressed and I'm not as nervous.
01:52And I really focus on, you know, how to, how to have fun.
01:57And when I play doubles, it reminds me of when me and my sister,
02:02you know, we play ping pong and it's just all about laughs
02:04and all about having fun and we're super competitive as well.
02:08And I have the same feeling when I play doubles.
02:11It's just, of course, I want to win, but it's more, you know,
02:14I'm just enjoying the match.
02:17So a lot on the court.
02:19So I do think that it's just that I have less stress when I play doubles.
02:26With that being said, is the plan like,
02:28would you like to try and feel more like you do on the doubles court,
02:32on the singles court?
02:33Well, that would be ideal, of course.
02:35But I do think that, obviously, I really want to do well in singles
02:40and I really want to play well and win a lot of matches.
02:42So, obviously, you know, I have a little bit more pressure
02:46and sometimes I put some pressure on myself, which is okay.
02:51But I do think that I'm dealing with that a little bit better recently.
02:54And, obviously, I would try to do everything I can to, you know,
02:59feel the same way when I play singles.
03:06Hi, Mira, how are you?
03:08Mira, I'm wondering, I'm speaking to players about self-talk during matches.
03:12And I know we've seen you in the past get really hard on yourself.
03:16And I'm just wondering, what are some tips that you have learned,
03:19whether you got it from a psychologist, from Conchita, from something you read,
03:22some of the things that you can do on the court
03:24to not get down on yourself too much?
03:28Well, I can say that, obviously, still there are times when I'm being hard on myself
03:33because, I don't know, for some reason I didn't like how I play
03:37or maybe I lost the point that I thought that I should have won.
03:40And I feel like recently it's been better.
03:42I'm just really kind of understanding that when I don't react at anything that's happening on the court
03:51or when I'm trying to just say good words, positive words to myself,
03:56I just feel like it's so much easier to play.
03:59I feel like I can think, I can make better decisions,
04:03I'm not missing so many shots on the court as well.
04:07So, I just kind of felt a difference a little bit
04:11and I don't really want to go to that negative thinking so much
04:19because I just feel like it's so much harder to play.
04:22So, I'm just kind of, I felt how it was being negative
04:26and how it is being positive and I like the positive side better.
04:31Hi, Mira. Can I just check that you've seen the draw
04:33and your first round opponent?
04:34Yeah. So, you've obviously played some homegrown players at Slams over the last year or so.
04:40Another one here.
04:41I'm just wondering what you've learned from those matches previously
04:45and how much of a challenge that can be.
04:47Yeah, of course.
04:48It's never tricky to play a French player, especially in Paris
04:53because obviously the crowd is going to support her as much as they can
04:58and that's totally okay.
05:00So, I mean, I have some experience even from last year when I played in quarters.
05:05So, I pretty much know what to expect
05:08and, you know, I'm going to prepare for this match as for any other match
05:13and we will see how it's going to go.
05:15But I hope they're not going to be too hard on me
05:17and we will see.
05:18But, yeah, I do think it's going to be a very entertaining match.
05:22I just wanted to check, are you participating in the player protest today?
05:27Well, you know, I respect for what players are doing
05:32and I understand what they're doing
05:33and I support them
05:35and I feel like we're all united for this decision.
05:45There was some attention, I guess, in the Madrid final
05:48that both you and your opponent had female coaches,
05:51which is pretty rare to have in a big match.
05:52There's not that many former WTA players who are coaching at WTA now.
05:56I'm curious, do other players ever ask you
05:58what it's like having a former WTA player as a coach
06:01and would you recommend for more players to consider this?
06:05I do think that people cannot force you
06:10to, you know, have a female coach or a male coach.
06:13It's all really individual.
06:16It's all very personal.
06:17For me, I feel great with Conchita.
06:19Obviously, she understands me more than anyone could.
06:24She's been through this.
06:26She's also a woman.
06:27She, you know, she's played so many matches on tour.
06:29She's so experienced.
06:30She's a Grand Slam champion.
06:32So, you know, she's just gone through so much throughout her career
06:36and I feel like she understands me better than anyone.
06:39And it's just, I feel like it's so empowering as well.
06:44So I'm just super happy that she's my coach
06:47and that she's by my side
06:48and that she shares all that experience with me
06:51and helps me to go through some moments,
06:54some tough and some good moments as well through my career.
06:57So I'm just super happy that, you know, we're working together
07:00and that she's by my side.
07:07Even though, as you said,
07:08you've been on the tour now for a few years,
07:11you're still very young.
07:13What is it like then kind of,
07:15I imagine you want to focus on your kind of career
07:18and what you're doing on court.
07:19so what is it like to participate in something like this
07:21and something, you know, to do with off-court
07:24and not to do with tennis?
07:27Well, you're asking...
07:29About the person.
07:30Okay.
07:32Wait, then ask again.
07:36What is it like to kind of participate in something
07:39that's off-court and quite serious
07:42when I imagine you want to be focused on your tennis?
07:45Yeah, okay, now I get it.
07:47Well, you know, I do think that what, as I said,
07:51what players are doing is reasonable
07:53and they have a reason behind it
07:55and as all of us, we're doing the same thing.
07:59We're competing, we're trying our best on the court.
08:02I do think that we have a reason behind it
08:05and I do think that all of us are, as I said,
08:11united and all of that
08:12and I don't know.
08:14I do think that it's also nice that, you know,
08:16players are all together
08:17and they have the same opinion about that.
