00:26On court, you kind of talked about how you didn't feel nervous during the match,
00:30despite that it was a very rollercoaster type match.
00:34I guess when in your career did you stop feeling nervous in matches,
00:37especially in those kind of stressful ones?
00:40No, I was definitely nervous.
00:42I meant like some moments when after losing my serve,
00:46I had 5-0 in the third set, being 40 left up, and then I lost this game.
00:53I was kind of frustrated, and because I really wanted to win that game
00:59and to be up in the score and have a little bit of advantage to finish the match.
01:04And when it didn't work, I was upset, but it was a very fast changeover,
01:12so I had to reset and continue to play.
01:18But definitely I was nervous probably to the last point.
01:23Congratulations.
01:24It's a great result for you, especially on the clay,
01:26where it's here you haven't always had the best results.
01:30You've had some good results on clay before,
01:32but what do you think you've been able to unlock?
01:34Why do you think you've been able to make this run
01:36at a place that's always been a little bit difficult for you?
01:39Yeah, I think I just take this clay season very easy mentally.
01:45I don't put too much pressure to do well, and I guess it helps.
01:50Of course, I practice all the same,
01:52and every year I feel more comfortable on clay with the experience.
01:57But I didn't have any expectations on clay for myself.
02:03Hi, Anna. Congratulations.
02:04When you spoke about the nerves, can you share the symptoms
02:09that your body experiences?
02:11Do you want to throw up?
02:13Do you feel heavy in the legs?
02:16Do your hands shake?
02:17And are there any kind of techniques,
02:19whether that's breathing or mindfulness or anything like that,
02:22that you use on and off the court to help you with those nerves
02:26that everyone understandably feels?
02:29I think it's different.
02:31It's not one particular thing.
02:33It can be heaviness in your legs or in your upper body or just full body.
02:37You can feel like kind of frozen.
02:40Or you can have, I mean, sometimes I can have problems with breathing.
02:44So what I try to do is just to, like I say, reset
02:48and just to breathe and think about what I have to do to make a good shot.
02:55Hi, Anna. Well done.
02:58You were ahead in the third set and then behind and then in the tiebreaker you were behind.
03:05And then what was changing about the way you were playing, do you think,
03:13whether you were behind or whether she was coming back?
03:17Were there things you were doing or you weren't doing that were different in those situations?
03:24And maybe you wish you were doing something different, given that the way she came back and then moved ahead.
03:31And then obviously you played how you wanted to at the end.
03:35Well, the match was very physical.
03:38I felt like in third set I was up in the score 4-1 and then I saw she was
03:44a bit tired.
03:45And at 4-1 I started to run out of energy to finish the match and she was coming back.
03:53So that's why the score was up and down a lot.
03:58She was playing very brave and she had unbelievable good shots and good fighting,
04:07bringing so many balls back.
04:09And sometimes I was just not ready for another shot because she was bringing so many balls back.
04:18You said you came into the tournament with no expectations, no pressure on yourself.
04:24Now you're into the quarterfinals.
04:25Do you think you'll still be able to do that or do you now change that mindset a bit because
04:29you are in the quarterfinals?
04:33No, I'm just happy where I am and thinking two weeks ago that I will be here.
04:41I wouldn't believe I would probably laugh with my team.
04:45But here I am, so I will try to enjoy and just do my best and let's see what's going
04:50to happen.
04:56Would you say that's one of the craziest matches you've ever played?
05:00No, I would say Rome is still crazy.
05:02Like after saving nine match points, I don't think nothing can beat this.
05:06At a slam though?
05:08Well, at the Grand Slam, yes, I think this one.
05:10I never played tiebreak until 10 in the Grand Slam.
05:13So for me, it was very new.
05:14And of course, playing on the big court against my friend, it's something very special.
