00:12Jamal issued a public apology at the High Court in Kuala Lumpur.
00:16In his apology, Jamal admitted that the allegations he made against the former Rembao MP were
00:22untrue, baseless and unsupported by sufficient evidence.
00:26He also retracted the defamatory statements and expressed regret over the harm caused
00:32to Khairi's reputation and credibility.
00:34In addition, Jamal undertook to immediately and permanently remove the video recording
00:40of the press conference as well as all related posts from his social media accounts.
00:45Khairi filed the suit on May 24, 2023 over statements allegedly made by Jamal during the
00:52OMNO General Assembly on January 14, the same year.
00:57According to the statement of claim, Jamal had held a press conference at the World Trade
01:02Centre Kuala Lumpur during the Assembly and later uploaded a video titled, I hope Khairi
01:08Jamaluddin is disciplined by the OMNO disciplinary committee after issuing careless and embarrassing
01:14statements about OMNO hashtag on Facebook and TikTok.
01:21Khairi claimed the statements implied he lacked integrity, was unfit to lead and disloyal to OMNO
