00:00Today we're investing £120 million into the ceramics sector.
00:03The potteries and the industries within it and the people who work for it are incredibly important.
00:08But the industries, they've struggled in recent years.
00:12The lack of profitability there has meant that the investment hasn't been where it needs to be to modernise the
00:17sector.
00:18So I'm injecting cash into it so that the sector can modernise,
00:22but also get support through the modernisation process as well,
00:26and that means support with energy costs as well.
00:28The sector is incredibly important for our country.
00:31It's a very diverse sector, but the people who work in it and the communities that depend on it
00:37are really important communities that very often depend on those sectors and those businesses.
00:42And I don't want to see those businesses going,
00:45and I don't want to see those communities being scarred and impacted by the loss of those communities,
00:50because I've seen what happened in the past when Thatcher in the 1980s took industries out of areas and regions
00:57and places.
00:57And it's left scars for generations.
01:00But it's a very beautiful view on the world, and I don't know.
01:00But it's just like this is a big part of the world.
01:00I don't know.
01:00And I don't know.
