00:00Well, we don't know where the money is coming from. That's the problem. You can make all the announcements you
00:03want, but you've got to actually set out your plans of how you're going to pay for them.
00:07Where's the money coming from? I get asked all the time by the sensible people in North Yorkshire and indeed
00:11around the country.
00:12And the reality is this money has not been allocated in the spending review.
00:17And that's where the government sets out its plan about where it's going to spend taxpayers money.
00:21It's not done that. So it simply made the promises we're going to build them, but it hasn't hasn't established
00:26how it's going to pay for them.
00:28So I don't welcome any announcement that does not come with clear spending plans and how those plans are going
00:35to be paid for.
00:36So, no, I'm afraid I do not. And we are seeing this government has a very poor track record in
00:42terms of building houses.
00:43They said they're going to be a lot more houses than we were, about 30 percent more houses than we
00:48were at the time and actually building about 20 percent less.
00:52So their plans for housing are falling apart.
00:55And I think this will be another announcement that falls apart under scrutiny.
