00:00The overall impact of these 100 tariff reductions is around just over 700 million pounds on the costs in the
00:08shops.
00:08Ten pence a week at a household level? Ten pence a week? Is that going to make a difference to
00:12people's jobs?
00:12This is part of a whole range of measures we're introducing today, whether it is the changes to freeze fuel
00:19duty until at least the end of this year.
00:21I understand, but the tariff measure is not significant, is it? It's not nothing.
00:25But it's not one thing on its own. This will reduce the cost of things like pasta or chocolate biscuits
00:32on a tin of baked beans, on tropical fruits, on bananas.
00:37So a whole range of products will see their price fall in the shops.
00:42And at the moment, when people are struggling with the cost of living, every reduction in price has an impact.
00:50But that is on the tariffs and one calculation, but also the HGV changes will also make a big difference
00:59to supermarkets.
