00:00They were the fair and necessary choices and we faced opposition to them from
00:05opponents to planning reform who will always demand that the future is built
00:10somewhere else not in their backyard. Opponents to trade who want to take us
00:16down the path of isolation and division. Opponents to investment who believe that
00:22the only good thing a government can do is get out of the way. Opponents who
00:26insist that the only way to balance the books is to cut public spending. And
00:32opponents who say that we don't need to balance the books at all. But we made
00:38these choices for a reason. Because after 14 years of Conservative government,
00:44working people demanded and deserved change.
00:51Investment, not cuts to our public services. Stability for our public finances. The single
01:00most important factor in getting the cost of living down. And economic growth, the best
01:06means to improve wages, create jobs and support public services.
