Cebu launches rice program

The Cebu Provincial Government launches its subsidized rice program aimed at helping low-income families cope with rising food prices, particularly in quake-hit local government units. The initiative, 'Benteng Bigas Meron Na' was introduced in Medellin, northern Cebu, one of the first LGUs included in the provincewide rollout. Gov. Pamela Baricuato led the launch and signing of agreements with participating local governments.
