00:17Vande mandatory in Madrasas before classes is what Shavendu Adhikari has said.
00:23West Bengal Chief Minister who arrived at the Belur Mat on his first official visit
00:28after taking charge as Chief Minister.
00:30Chief Minister Shavendu Adhikari who bowed before the monks of Belur Mat to seek their blessings.
00:35As this order has been passed by the West Bengal Chief Minister, it has also faced criticism.
00:43This time from AJ UP Chief Humayu who has hit out at the Vande Matram order.
00:49This is the latest in West Bengal where Chief Minister Shavendu Adhikari has said
00:53that singing Vande Matram in Madrasas is mandatory.
00:57It must be sung before the classes begin and Madrasas cannot just move on to anything
01:05before or without Vande Matram being sung by students.
01:12Let's listen in to what Humayu Kabir has said.
01:16Many in Madrasas are not a leader.
01:21Because one of the players is a leader on the government's side.
01:28There is no matter who has been to the government's side.
01:29Everyone is just buying Madrasa don't have to be a leader on their own.
01:56Let me cut across to my colleague Indrajit Kundu joining us on the broadcast.
02:00Indrajit, the important changes that are being introduced by the BJP government in West
02:04Bengal, and it is facing resistance.
02:07This time, Humayu Kabir speaking up against it.
02:11Well, that's right.
02:12A formal notification has, of course, been issued by the West Bengal government, making
02:17it mandatory across all madrasas, be it the state-front madrasas or those aided by the
02:24West Bengal government, that at the morning prayer, Vande Matram, which is the national
02:28song of the country, will have to be sung.
02:31Now, this is in continuation with the new West Bengal government's directive, because last
02:37week, in fact, the very first week of forming government, Shubedi Adhikari had announced
02:43that it would now be mandatory across all schools, government-run schools in West Bengal.
02:47So, in continuation with that, madrasas have also been brought into the purview.
02:52But this has, of course, you know, raised a huge political storm with now AUJP chief Humayun
02:57Kabir, an influential Muslim leader in West Bengal from Murshidabad district, which is
03:02a Muslim-dominated district.
03:03Now, he is saying that this is not correct on part of the government, that there are a
03:07lot of Khadiji madrasas, which run by themselves, you know, they are funded by themselves, and
03:13therefore, the government should not impose such a thing on these madrasas.
03:17So, one surely must brace up for a political war of words that would now emerge between
03:23the BJP and the AUJP in West Bengal over this entire issue.
03:29Absolutely.
03:29And we'll continue to bring our viewers the very latest for the moment.
03:32Thank you for getting us all the details.
