00:01Somaliland announced it will open its first ever embassy in Jerusalem on Tuesday.

00:07The move comes months after Israel became the first country to officially recognize Somaliland,

00:13the breakaway territory that declared independence from Somalia in 1991.

00:20People of Somaliland really, really very much appreciated that Israel became the first country that recognized Somaliland in 1960.

00:28And again, after 35 years of independence and sovereignty, Israel became again the first country that recognized Somaliland.

00:41So Israel is always at the hearts and minds of the people of Somaliland.

00:46Somaliland's ambassador to Israel, Mohamed Aghi, presented his credentials to Israeli President Isaac Hazok on Monday,

00:55which also marked Somaliland's independence day.
