00:26Kuyate is a veteran diplomat who previously served as Echorus executive secretary.
00:32A source within the bloc's presidency said his experience will help bring the people of West African community closer together.
00:40The three Sialian nations left Echorus in January 2025 after accusing the bloc of being under the influence of former
00:48colonial power France.
00:50They have since moved closer politically to Moscow and share an anti-imperialist pro-sovereignty vision.
00:57Previous mediation efforts by Senegalese President Bashiru Diomai Fai and Ghana's John Dramani Mahama failed to bring the hunters back.
