00:22john rom's playing the scottish open that's huge news isn't that that's and and i it's the reason
00:29he's doing it is we of course we've covered on the show this long-standing thing where he's trying
00:33to broker a deal with a dp world tour to get his status on that tour back it was you
00:38know a deal
00:38was cut with like seven or nine other live golfers to do that to do you know play x amount

00:44tournaments do some media promotional stuff in exchange for having their status back for rom
00:50it was key because it makes him eligible for the european rider cup team but this is one of the
00:54events that he's he's going to play the scottish open and that is a co-sanctioned pj tour event
00:59it yes it's it's very interesting and it still won't like even if he wins right like it doesn't
01:05change anything because he's still contracted for live golf but it's it's definitely another feather
01:11uh in the whole wrinkle of the whole john rom at live golf uh deal in the pga tour uh

01:19you know some type of of welcome back uh if he happens to win that scottish open would there be

01:30keep playing this game until he eventually takes an offer because dude i i miss john rom playing and
01:36yes i'm sure i can go watch and play live but i i definitely uh just just like the way

01:43game he plays it very passionate and i know some people don't like the passion that sometimes he
01:48crosses the line with like for instance this week he took a swing at uh the rough rough hits a

01:58instance in his career but you still love novak the competitor and it doesn't change uh your opinion of
02:04of the greatness that he has and he has this still and i felt heading into the week that he

02:39um but he was a just an inch away from rolling in on 13 at quail last year to really
02:45get the lead but
02:46in this year you know it's it's he was right there you know he's only two back
02:52and aaron rye hits you know the drive of his life at 16 makes an easy birdie and you expect
02:58every player to birdie 16 but he made it look really easy and then 17 when you hear that roar
03:04as a player you're just like really from where you know like where did he possibly make a putt from

03:11that's that's major championships in a nutshell is that you put yourself in that position and
03:17john ron played well good enough to win and aaron rye just played a little bit better
