00:00We want to spin this ahead to the second major of the season, the PGA Championship.

00:29to tee up some notable names that we're going to see at Quail Hollow. And we're going to start with

00:35some of the favorites, but really we have six names that aren't necessarily the top of the odds

00:39board. You can find a drafting sports book right now, but a selection of intriguing propositions

00:44of players that could and should be in the mix at Quail Hollow. So we're going to start with

00:49Scotty Scheffler, of course, five to one plus 500 to win this event. Here's an interesting stat I was

00:55doing in my research for this. Do you know he's never played an individual event or at least a

01:01pro event at Quail Hollow? Yeah, he was he backed out last year. He hates banks. Well, no, no.

01:08Wells Fargo, Truist, not a bank. Why did he not? Did he have a back thing come up? Is that right?

01:13Well, I think last year was Bennett's arrival. So that's what it was. The year before is Bennett.

01:19He was on maternity leave. Yeah, that's what it was. Paternity leave. But paternity leave.

01:23Whatever. Well, and it's funny because I'm thinking back, of course, we've seen him at Quail Hollow in the

01:282022 Presidents Cup, and it's something we've discussed a number of times on the show, his play

01:32that week alongside Sam Burns. And the only the lasting memory I have is what you witnessed the

01:37shank. Well, I recall Sam Burns carrying Scotty that week. So so so the way we kind of want to set

01:48this up is tell me why Scotty will win the PGA Championship and tell me why Scotty won't win

01:55the PGA Championship. OK, why will Scotty win the PGA Championship? This might be the easiest of all

02:02of the players that you're going to give me. Well, first off, it's Scotty Scheffler. He's really good

02:08at golf. And I think if he just shows up, he'll have a pretty good chance. I mean, I mean, we don't

02:14need to say much there. Well, just think about the golf course, right? I might as well talk about that,

02:19knowing that we're about to just kind of get into this a little bit. It's long, really long.

02:24He's hits incredibly high. He's he's just accurate enough off the tee to have a distinct advantage to

02:33have, you know, a club or two shorter than the average. And then he hits those clubs just as high

02:39as anybody else, if not higher. So his ability to to play firm golf courses and especially ones that

02:47have some space like Quail Hollow is why I really like Scotty there. Why would I not like him there?

02:54Well, I just did kind of mention that he did get carried a little bit by by by Scotty or by by

03:01Sam Burns. But when I think about this golf course, too, I think about just some like key drives. I

03:07think about like 18. 18 is one where you have to fade it off this bunker. All right, let's say that

03:13left miss shows up again. That's a tee shot to maybe be an issue. Another important part three right

03:19before it. That's a hole in which, hey, you got to hit a pretty dang straight on. I'm not saying

03:24that Scotty's not gonna be able to hit these shots. I'm just saying that if the double cross

03:28were to show up or happen to show up, maybe a shot or two around there and then maybe the,

03:36you know, missing in some bad spots and just looking at the around the green set and you see

03:3992nd this year. Maybe that's the reason why I didn't get it done.
