MOTHER CROCODILE GUARDS NEST AS WILDEBEEST STAMPEDE
WITH VID
By Bautista Gonzalez
Watch as a protective mother crocodile defends her nest while wildebeest charge past during migration season in Tanzania.
Amos Kimaro captured the dramatic wildlife moment in the Northern Serengeti, Africa.
The video shows several wildebeest scrambling down a muddy riverbank as they move through the migration route.
Lying directly beside the path, a female crocodile remains positioned over her nest to shield her eggs from being crushed.
As the animals leap and stumble nearby, the crocodile holds her ground despite the chaos around her.
The clip was shared on Instagram where one user commented: "Great capture of this very impressive behaviour. Amazing"
Amos said: "A female lay above her nest to protect eggs from being stumped by Gnu migrations (the great wildebeest migration)."
