The family of an 86-year-old woman have described being devastated after a teenager was jailed for almost seven years.
The court heard he was using cannabis and a phone when the crash happened in Sunderland.

00:06when riding on an electric motorbike. Newcastle Crown Court heard that Billy Stokoe had been
00:12taking cannabis and using a mobile phone before the collision on Burden Road in May 2025.
00:19The court heard he then rode away, leaving the scene. Passersby tried to help, but paramedics
00:25confirmed the 86-year-old Gloria Stevenson died at the scene. Stokoe has been sentenced
00:31to six years and nine months in youth detention and banned from driving for eight years, four
00:37months and two weeks. Judge Robert Adams said the teenager must live with the consequences
00:42of what happened.
