00:37I'm Tristan from Bolt Cutter.

00:38I'm Cameron from Bolt Cutter.

00:40We're on tour with Varials right now and we're going to show you our bus if you can call it

00:45that.

00:47So typically I'm the one doing most of the day drives because I'm usually at the earliest

00:52and then by the end of the show when we're all packed up I'm like ready to sleep.

00:56So Josh and Alex back there they be doing most of the night drives and all that.

01:02And uh Tristan's like a backup driver.

01:05Yeah I don't really I don't really touch the steering wheel because they all fight to drive

01:09so I'm just kind of there if really nobody wants to.

01:12That's something definitely unique to us.

01:14We're like we all want to drive and uh it gets a little tense sometimes.

01:19Yeah they're always grabbing the keys first in the morning like

01:22or like just any drive at all.

01:24I was like oh I kind of want to drive you know.

01:26On this tour we're kind of we've been doing Spotify jams a little bit.

01:29In the past it's kind of been whoever drives gets aux you know but uh

01:34we all kind of have different moves and we all want to listen to different stuff you know.

01:39I'm putting on like jazz.

01:41He's playing a lot of heavy metal jazz it ranges a lot um

01:45me and Alex listen to a lot of like 90s and 2000s r&b um blade uh a lot of

01:52rap stuff you know.

01:54Um Josh listens to a lot of punk and hardcore you know just like the true blue stuff but

01:58he also listens to a lot of singer songwriter stuff so it's a real diverse spread you know we

02:03get a we get a lot of our reps in.

02:05Can't forget Josh's nightcore playlist.

02:07Oh yeah.

02:08There's always at least a drive or two where we're listening to nightcore extra bass.

02:13Yeah um sped up bass boosted you know the whole nine yards.

02:18Yeah we don't have any of our funny stuff in here either.

02:21It's so it's so early in tour it's not like you know it's not a clusterfuck in here yet you

02:26know.

02:26Yeah we usually uh we usually take like gigantic stacks of napkins and just store them in the

02:33in the glove compartment or we get a bunch of like sauces from different uh

02:38different fast food places or whatever and sometimes it gets kind of heated so we have

02:42a label maker to put names on stuff you know uh you don't want to like with someone's ranch.

02:46As you can see here just to remind everyone how to drive we put steering wheel

02:53and left and right so you know which direction you're going in case you forget.

02:56We put those on there so the driver knows what direction to turn the steering wheel.

03:00When they got to turn.

03:01All right this is Josh.

03:05If I were to guess he's probably playing chess right now.

03:17There's almost always a case or like a mangled case of water that we always take from the

03:22green room at the end of the night you know.

03:24I hate buying them from Pilot or Flying J or whatever you know.

03:29This is mine.

03:31Some tomatoes in case I'm uh feeling like eating them.

03:34As you can tell I have not been eating my tomatoes.

03:38So typically we always have um two people up front a driver and a co-pilot just to keep

03:45the driver awake um or alert or whatever need be.

03:49Um this area usually is occupied um you know on our drives when everyone feels like getting

03:56out of their bunk.

03:57It kind of sucks laying down the whole time so it feels good to get up and get the the

04:01blood

04:02circulating and uh just sit down like chat with everyone.

04:06This area is our sleeping area.

04:09Yeah we call it the chill zone.

04:11This is the chill zone times two the most new and improved chill zone.

04:15Essentially we got inspired by uh some bands we went on tour with a while ago.

04:20They had built bunks and they were saving a lot of money um sleeping in their van instead of

04:26getting hotels every night.

04:28So we decided to opt for that and try it out.

04:30So far it's been awesome.

04:31We got two queens in there.

04:33So we usually just get two queens in a hotel room anyways and just split the beds.

04:37So we can save like you know 250 300 bucks every night.

04:41It'll it'll be a be a lot easier for us to stay in the green.

04:46It was it was vomit fourth that said chill zone first right?

04:50I think you know in a previous episode I think they might have said it first.

04:54So Josh and I um built these bunks.

04:58We got lumber from Lowe's and some brackets from Lowe's and uh the idea behind this bracket here

05:06uh is so that if someone accidentally slams on the brakes the whole mattress doesn't come flying

05:10forward right?

05:12Uh but you know doesn't really save whoever's on top from flying forward so

05:19you know feet first on this side head in the back so that if someone does go flying forward

05:23they don't break their neck you know.

05:26But uh yeah it's just a two by six we just knock on wood that doesn't happen.

05:29We just like drilled the two by six on there and uh it's pretty sturdy man.

05:33We'll hit the brakes and the mattress just like doesn't fly forward at all.

05:36It's cool.

05:49alex yo what's good it's cozy i mean as i mentioned before we had previous iterations of the chill zone.

05:57This is yeah v2.0 or whatever uh this is dope because we can fit like all four of us

06:02up here

06:02and have plenty of room for our space up there for all of our gear luggage all that and uh

06:08yeah it's

06:09cozy man we got a couple pillows one blanket keeps us all warm it's chill it's not it really there

06:16ain't

06:16too much to it to be honest it's just a mattress and a pool cup holders that's a chargers we

06:21got

06:21everything that we could need back here in these bunks if someone needs to charge up there you can

06:26just ride a charger or you know whatever oh yeah check this out too we got we got storage space

06:31on

06:31the wheel well we got our 40 cologne you can hang your hats on here it's beautiful honestly we got

06:37everything we need a couple drinks it's pretty clutch honestly this has been a game changer usually me

06:43and josh up top we kind of like last tour i feel like me and josh always ended up like

06:47snuggling

06:48up together and uh chris and alice kind of like to snuggle too so yeah we have uh assigned sleeping

06:55arrangements where we're all comfortable and content and we do not deviate from the plan uh

07:02whether it's a hotel or it is a double-decker bunk scenario um we're always in the same exact spots

07:10basically for the most part just makes everything easy and uh keeps everything familiar so we're in

07:19this uh what is this five foot by eight foot u-haul that's right and uh usually cam does a

07:25lot of the

07:25meticulous tetrising work in there we'll kind of bring a lot of the stuff out uh for him as he's

07:31packing

07:32everything away uh safe and sound i'm a notorious micromanager absolutely and uh he makes sure it's clean

07:39in there and very organized so it's real easy for us just load in load out everything is in his

07:44designated area um and he's got it down to a system essentially i will say um we don't have a

07:52whole lot

07:52of stuff in there this tour because i'm renting drums from a buddy and we're sharing drums and like but

07:59i'm using their hardware so there's not a whole lot to pack in here like last tour i mean to

08:05the brim

08:05like you know every night like it was stressful if we didn't put it back in exactly how it went

08:10but

08:10this time it's pretty chill like as long as all the like overstock merch goes in the very front of

08:16the trailer and then gear and then whatever we take in for the show the next day goes in the

08:20back it's

08:20like pretty chill the word was ankle i got that one the word was ankle i did get that one

08:25but uh

08:28but that was protecting me today right because we did like two in the morning

08:31it was just coming out i don't want to spoil it hey the word was ankle today yeah yeah you'll
