00:00I think that nil is good for the college game maybe you disagree with this and I'll tell you
00:05why for me I'm gonna stay in college if I'm at the University of Miami Jay I'm not leaving to
00:11go
00:11take a shot at the NFL if I'm a third fourth or fifth rounder if I'm making $600,000 in
00:17Coral
00:17Gables I'm gonna sit there and keep that money and I'm gonna stay in college to me I think this
00:23is gonna make the game better in some aspects now it may separate the has from the have-nots
00:29more because of what you have with nil with football programs and basketball programs
00:34but do you agree or disagree I think you're gonna see more competitive basketball and more
00:39competitive football when you have guys staying in college like the old days we've already seen it
00:45Dan players are staying longer the number of early entry candidates going to the NBA draft has dropped
00:51dramatically because largely because of that reason and now football because of the way the
00:58collective bargaining agreement works in the NFL they have to stay three years there's no other
01:02option for a football player other than playing college before they go into the NFL I mean used
01:07to be four years and the reason that it went to three after your junior year because USFL in the
01:131980s
01:14started drafting juniors and the NFL had to react it wasn't that somehow they thought that juniors are
01:18now big and strong enough mature enough play in the NFL it was strictly a business decision that they made
01:24but um look we've already seen like this halves versus have nots thing we've already seen that it's
01:32affecting the halves negatively um in what universe would Indiana have won a national championship in
01:39football without players being compensated they wouldn't have true and and you know that's why you've
01:45seen some of these coaches that were older moving on it wasn't because they you know they couldn't have the
01:51culture they wanted or anything like that they couldn't they couldn't stockpile players the way
01:55they used to that's why they left so um you know I I think it's it's much better now and
02:02and not to
02:03mention that it's actually approaching fairness now where you know for all these years these universities
02:09have been making money hand over fist off these players and limiting the players to their detriment and
02:15now the players are able to benefit and we've seen players make great decisions you know they're
02:21financially literate now they're they have deals that are benefiting them with with the the opportunity
02:27to build generational wealth and uh and that's nothing but a good thing
