00:00So my never-ending battle with the NCAA will continue as long as I'm a broadcaster, and I will tell
00:06you flat out, now the NCAA is trying to put the genie back into the jar again by going and
00:11changing eligibility rules when it comes to age.
00:15Back in the day, you had five years to play four.
00:19Now you're going to get five years to play five.
00:22What the NCAA is trying to do here is control the age and how old you can be in playing
00:29college sports.
00:31Once again, once you get into a courtroom, a judge is going to shoot this down.
00:36You cannot legislate how long a kid can stay in college.
00:42Based on what?
00:45Your form of what eligibility is?
00:48If a kid needs two medical redshirts, and he's redshirted, and the kid had a devastating injury or had an
00:55illness, or God forbid there's another pandemic, are you going to modify the rules again?
01:01This is what the NCAA is still trying to do.
01:05This National Communist Association of America is still trying to keep their footing in American sports.
01:12They're the most obsolete organization that we have running sports in our country today.
01:19Every single time they get into a courtroom, they get their heads kicked in because they have no political feet
01:27to stand on, and they have nothing, really, when it comes to anything, on their policies that go in court,
01:34and they end up getting beat.
01:36We saw the Trinidad-Chamberlis case.
01:39They ended up getting killed.
01:40And now you're talking less than 24 hours after the NCAA approved its new eligibility model.
01:47Fifteen college basketball players filed a lawsuit challenging that rule.
01:53The change also grants athletes five seasons within a five-year window and largely eliminates additional eligibility extensions.
02:02Like I said, you see a lot of kids today that are older going into the NFL draft.
02:08Why is that?
02:09Because of nil.
02:10Kids are getting an opportunity to stay in college to make a living.
02:14You imagine how great that is today for the college kid today that many of these players are not going
02:20to play in the NBA.
02:21NBA only has two rounds when it comes to their draft.
02:24The NFL has seven rounds.
02:26And if you stay in college, the thousands of kids that are able to make some type of income and
02:31have a job and really play professional sports for four years,
02:35The NCAA wants to limit that.
02:37I think the NCAA right now, once again, is fighting a non-win case.
02:43They're not going to stop this.
02:45When nil and transfer portal became legal and courts ruled on this, the NCAA has lost their footing.
02:54When you start paying a kid and giving them the ability to have an opportunity to make the kind of
03:01money that they're making.
03:02Look at the Brandon Soresby case.
03:04Soresby made $4.1 million.
03:07And he didn't even play a down for Texas Tech.
03:11Texas Tech gave him that money on the way out the door because the other conferences were starting to team
03:16up on the Big 12 and Texas Tech.
03:19The kid got the money.
03:20Now he's going to have to sit.
03:22We'll talk more about that later on in the program, about the supplemental draft.
03:25But at the end of the day, the NCAA and the NFL and the NFL was wrong in their ruling
03:32on that case, by the way, a court in Lubbock County ruled in favor of the quarterback and instituted his
03:40eligibility.
03:42Five to play five.
03:44It sounds great, folks, but it's limiting kids on staying in college.
03:49You don't know every case is an individual case.
03:52And what they want to do is blanket all the kids like they did back in the day.
03:57The NCAA has no place any longer in American sports.
04:03It's time to take this thing out.
04:07When are we going to wise up?
04:09I don't need the federal government any longer.
04:12I need the federal government to come in and not legislate players.
04:17Get rid of the NCAA.
04:19It is a cancer in American sports.
04:23It has always been a cancer in American sports.
04:27It has never done anything great for the player.
04:31It's done everything great for the institution.
04:34It's done everything great for coaches and athletic directors and also television executives.
04:41It's never been anything but an albatross around players' necks.
04:45And they're continuing to go down that lane.
04:48When do people in Washington see that?
04:52This is an organization that has been a cancer in our country when it comes to the student athlete.
05:00Enough is enough.
05:02These people have been for over 60 years destroying the game because they want to control the player.
05:09You talk about kids getting opportunities.
05:12They don't want to give you an opportunity.
05:14Back in the day, I couldn't even take a sandwich that would be considered an illegal violation with NCAA rules.
05:22It's time to end this thing.
05:24This association needs to end.
05:27They have no footing any longer.
05:29And they are the worst-run organization when it comes to college sports in our country.
05:36They have no footing any longer.
05:36They have no footing any longer.
