00:00A Canadian citizen tested positive for Hantavirus after being evacuated from the virus-streaking cruise ship MV Hondius.
00:09According to the official from the province of British Columbia, the individual, one of four people isolated on Vancouver Island
00:17after leaving the ship, had developed mild symptoms.
00:21British Columbia Health Officer Bonnie Henry said the person's test came back as a percentage positive on Friday, adding that
00:28the four isolated former passengers had not had any contact with the public since arriving in Canada.
00:33The official also emphasized that, unlike COVID, they don't think Hantavirus has any potential to become a pandemic.
00:40Meanwhile, of the six Canadians who were on the Dutch ship, five have not tested positive so far.
